Post by: jordychris on November 04, 2012, 07:58:19 pm
Bad day today put mountain bike away it fell on to tha car roof, the damage is two dents and two deep scratches can anyone recommend a good body shop in the Durham / Newcastle area. What would be a approx price for a roof with a sunroof respray

Google heatonpark Coachworks. They're off chillingham rd, not the cheapest but did a top notch job on my roof that had been dented and needed respraying.

Yes that does sound cheap £150!
Would have said more like £300-£400 with a repair.

Yeah, unsure if it was just a post count bump or a genuine estimate! I don't mean to offend Felix!

150 to repair and respray a whole roof ?
absolutely no chance, I have been in the trade for zero minutes but common sense tells you that's impossible
350 minimum

you say it will cost £150 to take dents out of a roof and completely respray it ?
that's crazy talk
cmon then let me ask people reading this
do you think £150 is a realistic price for that kind of job, remember there is a sunroof added also and for a proper respray of the roof that would need to be taken off then put back in,,, if it is done proffesionally that is,,, £150 remember

There are just not as many garages as we hope for offering the 2000% quality all of us strive for!  :evilgrin:

can i just ask, have you ever taken a sun roof out? do you know it takes fook all time? have you ever repaired a dented roof? ever heard of pdr so filler isn't needed? ever painted a roof? ever looked into how small a job a roof respray actually is?

Plain and simple, no. But to me and clearly others on this forum. £150 seems low.

I feel most comfortable at my local VW dealer who offer great service and quality. Not slating any other bodyshops

low compared to vw's rip off prices! go and ask any bodyshop that isn't at a dealer how much they charge and it will be £150-200 tops

I would also feel more comfortable with vw but yes they are overpriced but I would at least get a quote from them although I would be looking for a small garage with a good reputation.
nobody is saying use vw felix but your price is unrealistic and never going to happen
so that's one vote for me already then
me = 1
you = 0

chris don't waste your time dude, they will just tell you that price cause he will tell them to
his price is unrealistic and he is just being big headed
I tell you what though if it only costs 150 to take dents out on a roof and COMPLETELLY respray it im gonna get my bonnet resprayed to take away the stone chips,,, no dents in that so shall we say £80 for that job felix
me = 1
you = 0

are you stupid? why would they just say that on the phone because i told them to? they are a very big company, it could be anyone phoning up for a quote, not this chris

and a bonnet respray starts at £125

dents on a roof are a piece of piss to remove by pdr and it takes fook all time, cutting costs and time of filling, like i have said over and over, you haven't got a clue

This thread is drifting a bit from a fallen bike to a full on crash.  If the guy lives near Widnes and Felix is willing to do it for that price then lets just leave the thread, no point in bickering and being disrespectful to each other.    :happy2:
