Hi, does anyone know if this is possible through VCDS? I know you can go into the 'Applications' and ask it to read the ECU mileage. I've tried that on an 8P3 S3 and it didn't do it. I'm going to see a MK5 tomorrow so I want to know if VCDS can help verify the mileage for me.
Thanks

You can't with a manual car but think u can dsg

only with Diesel ECU
or
DSG
tbh inspect the car and check all the paperwork etc is your best bet
-
You can also do what I did and call VW with reg/vin number and check all the service dates and mileage tally with what the paperwork says. If it has FVWSH that is.

Thanks for the replies. It is a diesel 2.0 TDI so hopefully it will have it.
Thanks for the heads up on the paperwork, the interior condition all matches up to the mileage. I'll be giving VW UK a ring tomorrow morning. :happy2:

You can check the MOTs online and see what the mileage was every year
-
even with checking MOT papers , the mileage still can be altered. Best thing is to check with VCDS as its a TDI engine. And see if it the mileage on vcds matches the one on the clusters.

Mileage turned out to be correct. The paintwork was not, sprayed badly down the side. It's for the best, there's a lower mileage one that I have my eyes on now.
Thanks for the help fellas :happy2:
