Title: Project Black GTI
Post by: v6yna on November 08, 2012, 03:05:13 pm
Right thought i should start one of these as i have with every other car ive owned

Borrowed a MK5 off someone i knew and instantly loved it, so went looking for one, spotted this on Edition38, knew the car and loved it!

Bits is already had done to the car were...
APR stage1 switchable map
S3 intercooler
R32 rear lights
Rear wiper delete with glass bung
Colour coded rear valance/side skirts and ED 30 front spoiler
De badged front grill with notch filled
8.5x19" Audi speedlines with 215/35/19 Falken 452's,15mm spacers in rear
R32 front calipers with Tarox discs all round
Intergrated boost gauge in dash vent
KW Clubsport coilovers with adjustable top mounts
Carbon slam panel
Open fog light grills

Obviously wanting to make a car your own, i knew someone selling an R32 rear bumper and custom made blueflame exhaust, few phone calls later and  :happy2:

A good friend fitted the parts for me...

Really happy with it, and here is it after a clean
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi248.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fgg179%2Faustin2k5%2F53A06098-828F-43B2-93CA-E50EC8A7A10C-8870-000006E54FEABB12.jpg&hash=15f7a769d4d1447e20c32b4862c7684cd25e426d)

I love the car too bits and already looking at more little bits to make it my own, Carbon front grill, Carbon R32 rear valance, and a RNS510 if anyone knows any going cheapish

Not updated this for a while, not much gone on with the golf really, there was a handfree device in the dash that i bought the replacement dash panel for and have replaced.

Managed to make it to UD before the clutch started too die, a rolling shot from on the way....

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi248.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fgg179%2Faustin2k5%2F861684_544021972286566_216656501_n_zpsd0c9263e.jpg&hash=756dc778ce2e4ef9ead48c8972520016cd5a5fa6)

Now a new lightened balanced carbon kevlar clutch and single mass flywheel in the garage waiting to go in, and will be off to the painters before EE to get it right for the show!

Also looking at getting the wheels repainted in a new colour or a possible new wheel but not sure yet what!

Wheels are stunning, for sure dude  :pomppomp:

I'd personally prefer a black or grey front VW badge but ETTO of course, it's certainly a good looking car  :happy2:

Cheers guys, bit annoyed today though,
Luckily as i dropped the car off at the painters today, i noticed someone has driven along the front of my car, put a scuff along the front bumper so i was not happy!
I know as its being painted it doesnt really matter, but its the fact noone left anything to say they hit it or anything, just abit rude.
Nevermind more pics to update the change soon  :happy2:

Dont know whats happened to all my pics but here is how it stood before the changes,
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Faustin2k5%2FMK5_Golf%2F53A06098-828F-43B2-93CA-E50EC8A7A10C-8870-000006E54FEABB12.jpg&hash=a71b074b41d143362f60dfbe38d5f40ae39d3120)

Well with ideas in my head, the paint needed redoing as it wasnt the mintest, with stone chips and stuff so off to the painters it went,

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Faustin2k5%2FMK5_Golf%2FIMG-20130404-WA0000_zpsb2c37f11.jpg&hash=e0646bcfcf05f68af9f57f846fd822ed1607ba4b)

2 days later and...

I had the red front grill trim done gloss black as it would go with my wheels.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Faustin2k5%2FMK5_Golf%2F20130405_094810_zps454f74d8.jpg&hash=13a32eb1fa434b38dcbc315d99ffd6e5d0e69dfd)

Wheels then got taken off to be redone, and wing mirror casings taken off due to forgetting to tell the painter to do them also [:D] ha!
