I apologise for not searching the forum for this answer I'm sure it's probably on the forum but I'm being lazy :)
So- I'm out at the pub and after effin and Jeffin at my belt alarm on the way here my half cut friend is saying that you can just pull the wires out the bottom of the seat belt fastening and it stops the alarm... Just wondering if he is correct or being a helmet! Don't wanna try it and end up with a face full of airbag or something lol!
Help!!! :)
-
code it out with vcds
-
Or just put your seatbelt on
-
Yes you can pull the plug to silence it, use VCDS to code it out properly or just use the belt.
-
I find wearing the seatbelt normally helps :stupid:
-
I do use my belts but the alarm is a bit trigger happy and doesn't even give me chance to put it on lol
-
It triggers at a cirtain speed. So drive to the pub slowly :happy2: Or put it on when you move off
-
Maybe put the seatbelt on, before moving off.
Why would you want to disable a safety feature :stupid:
-
It is mildly irritating when I put my e.g. footy kit bag on the passenger seat and it pings.
I'd hardly call it a safety feature either. It stops pinging after 40 secs or so anyway!
-
I use one of the buckles off eBay for when the pooch is in the car.

^^^Very clever - going to order one now. Your dog is very cool and you Sir are a true enthusiast (the VW collar) :happy2:

Then it starts again after a bit I think.
It triggers at a cirtain speed.
10mph I think.

.........VCDS it. My 05 GTI used to beep as soon as the car starteD to move, pain in the arse when getting the car in/out of the garage. Mate stopped it with VCDS. ED 30 i have now only does it at a acertain speed.
-
When I bought mine it had already been coded out :happy2: I always put my seatbelt on automatically anyway, but there's the odd time you just want to move it from the front to the back of the house, I don't need a beep to remind me
-
When it gets coded out with VCDS do you still get the symbol on the dash or does that also disappear?

Once Again,
I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt however the first thing I tend to do when I get in my car is put the key in the ignition and whilst the glow plugs are warming up I put my seat belt on and get ready to pull off etc.... The seatbelt alarm immediately goes off and it does my nut in.... this is why I want to disable it... not because I drive round with out a seat belt on... or drink drive or any of the sort, the alarm also goes off when I put my gym or work bag on the passenger seat.
Rant over :)
Cheers for the helpful comments guys :)

Eddie coded mine out using VCDS as I lived on a private road with a 135 degree bend at the top and it was pain removing the belt to see round the corner, so coded out, put the belt on at top of private road after looking round said bend :happy2:
-
You shouldn't have to defend/explain yourself to anyone on here. I agree it's a pain, had my coded off
-
Mines coded out too!
-
Coded mine out to, noise is a pain in the Arse
