Hi all,
Requiring a new clutch due to some slippage. I have stage 1 bluefin and it's an edition 30.
Can anybody recommend a decent clutch to replace the standard one? Also will I need a new flywheel or will I get away with just the clutch and the bearing?
Phoned volkswagen and they quoted...
Flywheel £600 before VAT
Clutch £230 before VAT
Bearing £65 before VAT
Cheers :happy2:

Mine is slipping too so I'm saving for a Helix clutch. Awesome GTI seem to be the cheapest :happy2:
Sachs is another option but a few guys on here have had problems which was enough to put me off :sad1:
As long as your not getting any rumbles from your flywheel it should be fine.
You could go with an OEM replacement clutch (cheapest option) but it may just start slipping again in 12 months time

Helix - spk to vrs alex on here
Loba - spk to Statller Steve
Sachs - I would avoid

I had the LOBA/Sachs setup on my S3 and it was fantastic. I haven't seen anyone having problems with this setup. They are rated to 405 lbs/ft.

Cheaper than the OEM parts and future proof should you decide to mod further.

Heard good things about Helix with a DMF myself so that's the way i will be going when mine gives in! :sad1:

Look in the group buys , I got a sachs fitted by APS for a very good price
I have had no problems with my sachs

Any one know roughly how much the helix is??
Its good to hear that you can use this with the DMF, rather then resorting to SMF.

Same here, and they fit the proper 400ft/lbs rated one...
Thought stuck in a 1.5hour tail back the other day, my leg was pump and my knee/ankle was sore...
