Winter has really arrived and my BBSs are in danger of getting a bit mucky.
Not breing one of you OCD detailers :P I'm thiking of dragging my Monzas out of the back of the garage and shoving them back on the car for the winter so I don't have to spend an hour each week sat in a freezing puddle scrubbing the 3 million spokes on the BBSs and then shaving my knuckles trying to get the wheel brush through said spokes so I can get the inner bits of the wheels clean.
Now we all know that standard Monzas on a grey car are boring so I'm now asking you lot for your opinions on whether to get them done in black (shiny of matt?) or dark grey?
Well what do you reckon? :rolleye:
-
I reckon a anthracite colour :happy2:

or even a smoke chrome

^ Is the upper wheel in this pic 'Smoked Chrome'?
Thanks :happy2:
-
yes it is, the bottom one is a standard silver
-
Robin, A1 have a smoke chrome wheel hanging in their shop
-
They can also do darker or lighter smoke chrome (well my refurbisher could)

Indeed, depends on how many coats of laquer they use.

....
It's looking clear to me that a shade of Smoked Chrome is the way to go for me, as I want a more durable all powdercoated finish. Such a shade will bear some kind of resemblance to the original Monza 18 though it won't have all the wonderful shimmering effects etc.

it can give a really bright finish a bit like the moza 2 oem look

i also had my inners done black to help with the effect

Black inners is an excellent idea!
A powdercoat equivalent of the Monza 18's is exactly what I want to achieve :happy2:

+1 for the anthracite/shadow chrome look
IMHO black wheels only work on white cars

....IMHO, I know they are well liked and popular but personally I don't like all-black wheels on white cars unless they have a contrasting rim. They don't show where the wheel ends and the tyre begins, and they look like black steels unless close-up.
I'll get my coat..............................

well i do, the only black alloy i would have would be a BBS ch Black edition (maybe Nathans Atean wheels too LOL), and both those are broken up by a lighter rim edge
that said i much prefer a mid anthracite colour (or smoke etc)
