I've had it on the car for 3 years now, rate it highly and helps me get the power to the road. I do have a bit of torque steer in straight line, but not that it bothers me :happy2:

I'm seriously intreasted in this mod, just want to hear a few more views from forum members that's got this fitted before I decide
-
yup got one too, defo helps get power down when pulling out of junctions and powering through corners, cant say is better than a quaife as no experience of them.
i dont think it really matters whether you go wavetrac/quaife/peloquin they all do their job :happy2:
-
i have a quaife diff i also get torque steer in straight line but i think they all do the same thing as stated on the tin.
But i think wavetrac have anti lift?
-
Waiting for a quote from jkm supply & fit..will know end of the week
-
Had a Wavetrac in my MK6 Stage 3+ GTI. I loved it. The most noticeable difference was getting mroe power down in turns... and that's no easy task when you're pushing 450bhp at the front wheels :P
-
Wavetrac for me too but unfortunately I can't compare it to any others as never driven with the other brands.
Love the way the Wavetrac transformed my car though, way more drive out of corners.
-
I'm still waiting for the quote from jkm, called a few places that supply wavetrac diffs so I can compare prices when jkm gives me the quote & all of them say wavetrac don't do dsg diff!!!

Wavetrac dont list the DSG diff on their website.
Just chuck a Peloquins high torque version in there. Its around a 10 hour job start to finish ready to drive away. Plus the 8 litres of DSG oil!
If you go Quaife or if Wavetrac do the DSG version then you will need new bearings at £130 extra. The bearings are not available through VW either and you cant use the bearing numbers directly off the bearings!
I will drop Wavetrac an email and find out if they do one.
-
Yes they do do a DSG diff now for the 02E box.
Part number 10.309.185WK.
:drinking:

I've got a Quaife in my DSG been fine for two years now, fitted one to Hurdys years ago too, I've managed to re-use the bearings on the DSG's we've done so far, got to be careful popping em off though ! they were all low mile cars so no wear
I'd say after driving them it's hard to choose which is best, up to now we've had no problems with Quaife or wavetrac not tried the others yet suppose everyone has their own fayv
Weve done a wavetrac today on a manual very easy job compared to a DSG! All good though

How much will it cost for you to supply & fit a wavetrac mate

Blimey. Who's trying to scare you :signLOL:
You'd be use to it in no time and wonder why you didn't fit one sooner.

.... x 2
It's a great mod if you enjoy spirited driving when circumstances safely allow.
When it's wet you need to take it easier anyway, regardless of having a diff or not :stupid:

Cheers to everyone giving me feedback on this.. Made up my mind now..

Using a diff well in the wet or dry requires good throttle control. I've had slippy diffs in my cars for the last 8 years or so. One of the best mods that can be done and equal imo to a remap.

The wavetrac works differently to the quaiffe as it transfers the power in a different way. It is a much superior product to a quaiffe.
This is copied from elsewhere but it explains it without me having to use my brain.
The wavetrac diffs have an entirely different operation to any other, and unlike other diffs they allow transfer of power even if the axle is not loaded... so if you lift a wheel in a corner, you still get power transfer to the wheel on the ground. This does not happen with other diffs. Explaining how they work is another post entirely, but you can read up on them here - http://www.wavetrac.net/

yup, that is why i went for the wavetrac :happy2:

But then how often do you lift a wheel when driving on the road?
