Title: uneven tyre wear
Post by: bushypad on November 13, 2012, 05:39:52 pm
Hi guys getting my tyres replaced and to my shock the wear was extremely uneven the inners were almost bald and outer still had some tread left. I have a feeling this could be down to bushes that need placing.. any idea how much new bushes could cost me including fitting?! bit new to all this any help would be appreciated!

I drive a mk5 gti

It could just be bad wheel alinment

Best to get a garage to check over all the bushes/suspension parts

If they are all good get a 4 wheel alinment ASAP so that your new tyres don't go the same way

Not sure as I haven't had to replace any bushes on mine

But if I do replace any they will be getting poly bushes fitted so that I never have to change them again

Are you talking front or rear? From info I've gathered on the subject and mk5's if its the front get your tracking/allingment sorted if its the rears it can be quite "normal"....I've gone with directional instead of assymetrics on the rears now so that I can swap them round when this starts to show again.
