Title: RCD 510 info please

Hi

My rcd510 arrived from ebay today. Can anyone shed any light on the firmware and if I will need a canbus adaptor for my 2005 gti

I would first find out what version gateway you have installed as in all likelyhood you will need an updated one to avoid battery drain.

Most likely will need a new gateway unless you have the sound pack upgrade which has the amp under the passenger seat- my 55 plate does and that seems to turn everything off so no drain.

If you plug in the headunit and hold down the setup button for about 5 to 10 seconds you can then get to the screen that has the system info
