Title: DSG throttle click?
Post by: Black9 on November 16, 2012, 09:43:59 am: Unlike my Manual GTI my DSG car has a click at the very bottom of the throttle travel.

When accelerating flat out in M mode to people floor it right thru the click or just above.

Does it make any acceleration difference & it it aimed at more S and D mode for the gearbox kickdown?

Post by: Poppa Dom on November 16, 2012, 10:23:08 am: The click is the microswitch for kickdown IIRC :happy2: so if in M it is irrelevant as it will hold the gear until the limiter. WOT will have been reached anyone so not much difference. As you say, it is there for kickdown in D/S modes.

I don't and I don't believe the OP does either. It's an 'oh sh*t give me warp drive I'm gonna die' when you happen to be ambling along in M. :happy2:

Change gear and rev to 6799RPM... then change gear again. Used to really bug me...
