Do you have a link to the exact package you got?

Strange there are several different listings for a mk5 golf how do I know what one to pick?

Mine is DSG if that makes a difference?

I measured my suspension ie 49mm instead of gti 54 then I matched the codes on fk site to venom motor sports site ie my art number was below going by the art numbers as others are for golf plus and gti below is the 49 mm diameter strutt

 http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/en/Suspension-Tuning/Sport-Suspension/Sports-suspension-High-Tec-35-40-mm-fit-for-Audi-A3-Typ-8P-VW-Golf-5-1K-oxid.html?sid=9470c82f58383cb3fdc8dfbb05c336bf&listtype=search&searchparam=Golf%205%20suspension

Lads could you post the link to the kit to order for 06 gti with DSG?
I'm confused as to which is right for my car!

Going off the gti's strut diameter of 55mm,

looking on venom's site: http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=13017&manufacturer=FK&category=Suspension

the part number is: FK99AI081

so search for that with fk and you get:

http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/en/Suspension-Tuning/Sport-Suspension/Sports-suspension-High-Tec-35-40-mm-fit-for-Audi-A3-Typ-8P-VW-Golf-5-1K-oxid.html?listtype=search&searchparam=FK99AI081

The FK High Tech kits are FK’s premium budget sport suspension kit....so don't hold your breath lol

Seems like some very cheap prices, do u really get what u pay for with FK? Only need dampers as mines are a bit worn & was gonna match them to my VWR springs OR is it a better idea to get the full high tec kit lol

^^^ you can get better quality of stuff. I want weitec coilovers but silverlines are only currently £270 which is a bloody bargain!

How do these "premium budget" kits compare to the standard GTI coils and dampers? Obviously they are lower, but is it worth it if the ride and handling is compromised?

X2

Has anyone got any experience of this kit?
How do they ride? Or are they just terrible..?

I would stick with standard dampers and get lowering springs of a good quality

Not sure like but at 253 pounds that's deer so getting a discount to 73 is decent so not sure how gd they are but at 253 they should be ok better than what I have already haha

My mate had FK's on his mk4. They fell apart after a few months  :sad1:

I'm not sure £253 could be considered dear for a coilover kit! I'd say suspiciously cheap actually!

Does anyone know how long standard dampers normally last?

The FK High Tech kits are FK’s premium budget sport suspension kit....so don't hold your breath lol

The ones you have linked to on FK's site have a part no FK99AI181
Same as these http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=13018&manufacturer=FK&category=Suspension
Which are for a 50mm strut as that's what we orderd for chris's car

They also have spacers and other parts heavily reduced

And to be honest you can't really grumble at a full suspension kit for £80 deliverd
Just do your homework and make sure they are suitable for you

For £80 its even worth buying if you have an expensive kit fitted to your car and keep them to fit for when you sell your car

I have  a bilsten b12 kit on my car but if I was on a budget I would seriously consider these or even the silver lines

So how are we meant to find out what size the kits are? Ive searched all over the website for more details but cant see any way to check, if i need 55m kit then the A3 kit wont fit will it?
How hard would it have been to put the strut size on there  :stupid:

im ordering the fk highsport coilovers for my 1.9tdi (FKVW44) 50mm strut £220.15 bargain considering how much everywhere else sells them for over £400+

i might also buy the xenon style lights

http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/en/Lighting-Tuning/Headlight/Headlight-Set-suitable-for-VW-Golf-5-yr-03-08.html?listtype=search&searchparam=vwgolf (http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/en/Lighting-Tuning/Headlight/Headlight-Set-suitable-for-VW-Golf-5-yr-03-08.html?listtype=search&searchparam=vwgolf)

look pretty good for £155 were £358 57% saving

had coilovers in my starlet was 715 for them and was hard as hell so never buying coilovers again

....It depends on which brand of coilovers, how adjustable they are and how well they are set up (it's not just about going low). How good your car's chassis is probably makes a difference too. What's a "starlet"? Jap?

You won't go wrong with Bilstein and KW, providing you have them set up properly.

Yes gt turbo from Japan

Had bc racing coilovers when they first came on the go :) there fully adjustable up n down left and right lol had them proper set up on machines cost me a lot to be done for knock hill race circuit :) spent basically 30 to 40k building my car over the years n broke it for spares n bought a mk5 diesel lad

Got new suspension so won't be buying coilovers again not into the race scene now got a comfy diesel lol if am going racing again buying a radical or a atom :)
