Hi guys, heard a lot about Revo, APR and Bluefin (Superchips) but not heard to much about Custom Code? Has anyone had there GTI mapped with their software?
Previously I've had my Leon Cupra R mapped their and was very impressed with the smooth power delivery, I also had a trial of APR on the same car before Custom Code and it it was poor in comparison, lots of poke (too much) early in the rev range and died off very quickly.
Thanks for the advice

Hurdy should be along soon to tell you his experiences with his ED30...

sounds like he might be moving to revo due to peer pressure i think

That's maybe because there isn't much else he car do on that car...
-
Tom had his ED30 custom coded too
-
I have had my leon TFSI remapped by them and its ok. Very linear power delivey just like OEM but more powerfull. Also had the REVO trial on the same car. They both felt like they gave the same power but the CC map was much smoother. The REVO map seemed to make the engine louder somehow.
I have been told that the trial maps from REVO are not the full 100% as the settings are lower.
Just my experience of the maps.
You should be aware though that if you get an exhaust or fuel pump and want to go stage 2 or stage 2+, with Custom code you have to pay the full remap price again. With other software companies the new maps are are either free or a small charge. If I had my choice again I would have gone with another company.
Hope this helps

I had Custom Code on our Mk4 Anni TDI and it was fine, had Revo on both my Leon Cupra R and MK5 GTI mind you
-
Tom had his ED30 custom coded too
Yep Tom's (Now mine) ED30 is running the Custom Code 2+ mapping with autotech fuel pump. All I can say is its awesome, obviously I haven't sampled any other mapping but I had Custom Code on my last car and if Im lucky enough to have something else next thats worth mapping I will use them again!
Cant recommend them enough plus JBS are 2mins from my house :signLOL:

If you are thinking of getting CC you should get yourself to GTI Internat as they always do a discount if you buy it there and you get free 1/4 mile sprint runs.
-
I am actually going to Inters this weekend but slight issue is... I haven't bought a GTI yet!

Late reply on this one. Just got back off my hols about an hour ago!!!!!
Custom code has a very good rep with remapping VAG cars and are well known for their aftermarket upgrades :innocent:
I'm personally considering Revo as the cars with stage 2 seem to be getting better outputs with less modifications. Just considering REVO though for now as the car is running pretty sweet at the moment. :happy2:
-
my last 3 cars have been custom coded and i think the results are brilliant , never heard 1 single complaint from any one either :happy2:

40% discount i believe at gti international

Take off SeatCupra.net
Official Custom-Code/GTI International ¼ Mile and 40% Discount Offer!
GTI INTERNATIONAL 2009 - 27 AND 28 JUNE
After a successful exercise last year, we are again the sole sponsor for the quarter mile sprint at GTI International 2009.
We will be repeating the same massive 40% discount off the regular retail price, as well as a FREE ¼ mile sprint run. This is an exclusive offer not to be missed and an ideal opportunity to test your new-found performance!!
Due to the amount of cars that came along for the tuning last year, it would be great if we could get names down so they have priority as we ended up turning a few customers away last year.
But again as last year if at any given point it gets extremely busy, we aim to have 3 tuners on hand, so we can try and keep a steady flow of Custom-Code traffic throughout the weekend.

The evils of modifications had been whispering sweet nothings in my ear and you soon find yourself succumbing to them :innocent:
REVO stage 2+ is undeniably a more fulfilling map
Drat that Jonnyc convincing me on spending my money

Oh yes :happy2:
Morning with CC it did ......
5.53 0-60 and 13.898 1/4
5.54 0-60 and 14.009 1/4
5.66 0-60 and 13.974 1/4
5.61 0-60 and 14.046 1/4
So all in all a fairly consistent set of figures
In the afternoon with Revo stage 2+ it did.......
5.16 0-60 and 13.661 1/4
and then I went up againt Rupo and the light went green before I'd set the lauch control, so I "dribbled" off the line :ashamed:
5.63 0-60 and 13.997 1/4
Bear in mind the weather was better for 1/4 mile runs in the morning and taking the half decent launch and the fact the map hadn't adapted to the car fully a 5.1 0-60 and a 13.66 1/4 is in a different league to my CC map....even though I was happy with it at the time :happy2:
-
That's is an impressive difference, we need a trip to Santa Pod me thinks

Did Ben Run yours in the end for a run John?
-
Yes, Ben ran mine.
However he must have double plipped the gear paddle as he went quickly from first to third and ended up with a 5.7 0-60 and a 13.9 1/4.
-
Cant get to inters, its too far. Any chance of continuing the promotion? Where can I goin Glasgow?
-
Just be VERY cautious of CC. They do NOT develop their own maps, they simply purchase them from third party vendors (one of their main suppliers is in Holland, and even I personally could buy them!) and then pass them off as their own. Also, if they then 'customise' the map, there is absolutely NO accountablilty. :scared:
I would personally recommend SuperChips over CC, and anyone who knows me will know what my opinion of SC is!

Well, I like Revo for a whole raft of reasons, mainly that they are honest and don't BS potential customers, and that they actually deliver exactly what it says on the tin - and even over deliver in the case of my RS4! :jumpmove: :jumpmove:
And you seemed quite impressed too!

The M1 was a bloody P.I.T.A. :fighting:
The 20+ miles of roadworks with the average speed cameras wants finishing ASAP :fighting: :fighting:

Well it's all do-able like nurbugring etc..... Still it's 656 miles and about ten and a half hours driving.....
That's about 2.2 tanks at circa £55 a load....
Ah the pitfalls of living in the woolly wilds ..
Still it's finished now so maybe next year.....
