Title: Big thanks to Steve and all @ Statllers
Post by: berg on November 20, 2012, 07:26:48 pm
To put it bluntly I have had a complete mare with my car recently. Sticking clutch pedal turned out to be a complete ballache to fix and has cost me a fair bit.

If I had taken it to Statllers in the first place it would have a.) cost me less b.) been sorted quicker.

Still, as I hoped it would be a minor problem it followed that I should take it local first but the next step was to drop the box and I decided Statllers was the place to go as they had fitted my Sachs and Wavetrac the previous year.

The problem was not as first thought (PM me if anyone wants more details who has a sticking clutch pedal) and must have been a ballache for Steve, Craig and Luke also.

The service from Statllers was great and Steve lent me a A3 tdi for 2 weeks whilst the problem was looked into.

Steve kept me informed throughout and explained the position.  Steve was very fair I think with me; as he took a clutch off me which I had purchased from Vrs Alex (this did not need replacing in the end) and probably could have charged more on labour and lost on that front as the box was dropped so many times it did it itself in the end when you whistled to it

All in all, if you are in the North I would not think twice about making the trip to sunny Sheffield (avoid the Bankers Draft Wetherspoons pub though was like the cantina in Mos Eisley  ) Thanks too to Vrs Alex who got the Helix clutch sorted for me quick style.

Cheers chaps,  :drinking:

Good to hear you got it fixed, mate  :happy2:

And also good and helpful for folks to read another good report about Statller.

in hindsight should have gone dsg but when you have had no experience of automatic is easy to lean towards what you know
