Wife is wanting a smaller car instead of her 4x4 beasty. She only drive to Guildford and back now in rush hour traffic so a bit of a waste having such a big car.
Thinking about the 1.4 Match with the following extras:
Candy White Paint
Alloy wheels 16” Navarre
Climate Control
Convenience Pack
Sensor Pack with Cruise Control
Multi function steering wheel
Am a little disappointed with the MFSW on these cars as it only has controls on the left. Will definitely be changing it to a double sided job and throwing in an RNS 510. Pity they don't do the Xenon's as an option from the factory on the Match spec.
Anybody got any experience with these? What are they like? Will be taking one for a long drive next week when my sales contact is back off holiday.

My mate has just bought a really poverty spec one of these. Howeer is still a very nice car. still feels quality and is a nice place to be.
Was shocked how little you get as standard though. They do not even have a remote key :scared: have to put the key in the door to open it.
-
I got one as a courtesy car when I got my wings done then got a Fabia as a hire car on holiday and preferred the Fabia to the polo
Both were just 1.2s though
-
Just ask Robin, he loved his JKM loan car so much, he tried to persuade them to swap it for his Golf! They were havin' none of it though.

I really dislike the steering. Coming from the gti it was almost dangerous the way it got lighter with more lock applied. Don't know if you can alter this with vcds. Quality little car though although for the money I think I would get a year old golf...

bingo - and me personally i prefer the Seat of all the little VAG cars?

Re-looking at the whole thing again.
I would be leasing it through the company and in that respect, the Golf 6 TDi Match or the Golf 7 1.6 Tdi SE are working out a better option. Roughly the same sort of monthly rate, but a much higher spec as standard and a better car I think, also far better on fuel than the 1.4. I couldn't believe how bad the 'real world' economy is on whatcar.com of the 1.4 Polo, they reckon around £850 a year over 10k miles on fuel more for the 1.4 Polo over the 1.6 Tdi Golf. Might just end up with one of those. Huge discounts on the Golf 6 available now, the Match has over £4k off the price.

You could pick up a newish Polo GTI for the same money I'm sure...get her to drive one after testing the 1.4...
Women definitely love a bit of power. At least my GF says she does.

Noooooo. Don't even mention that to her. She has a heavier right foot than me and most men I know and she can drive. You should see her in my Jetta, I've been stuck with the truck nowadays. I need to get her something sedate for her daily commute that is going to be good on fuel.

^^^ Your wife sounds great!

That 1.6 TDI engine is a peach. Add in the new MK7 chassis and interior and I think you have your winner!
-
Maybe an option, the SEAT ibiza sport :happy2: the misses picked one up at the end of the month and saved £3k on the overall price plus a long list of options compared to the Polo....

Hahahaha, you have no idea.........
Her late father was a championship winning race driver in the 70's and I think the genes are strong in this one.
Not really keen on the Seat range in general. The new one is really short of kit, even electric rear windows are an option.
Think the way to go is definitely Golf 7 1.6 Tdi SE.

Tis indeed. I had a MK6 1.6TDI Match for around three weeks while my car was with VW - superb car.

I'm looking at the same option golf 7 or 6 and wanted to ask if the 4k saving is available to non business users?

I am sure they would be if you could find one. I tried getting my local dealer to source me one last week and there were none available. They had a demo which was dearer, go figure.
