Hi guys,
I don't have it at the moment but wondering if the VCDS lite by Ross-Tech would allow me to change the light setting which are required following xenon retro fit?
-
what kind of lead do you have?
-
It's a Cheap USB jobby from eBay...
-
No.
-
So only a original Ross-Tech cable can be used or are there other alternatives?
Also, does this module option HAVE to be changed?
-
Yes. It has to be coded otherwise your likely to get flickering lights.
-
yeh you need have them coded or they will just flicker on and off , you will need a real vcds cable. Im sure some one close to you on here will have one , try the vcds area on here and see ? .

Thanks guys. Am considering investing in a quality cable but until then.. will pop a post in the VCDS section
-
VCDS Lite doesn't work on mk5 platforms, even if you buy a license for the fake cable.

Where abouts are you? I can help if you're not too far. I'm in Preston, lancs.
I did this at the weekend for another forum member.

Edit: seen your other post, you're a southerner ;)

Could you elaborate please? Are you saying I would need both a 'proper' cable and a different licenced software?

You need either Hex-CAN-USB cable or a Micro CAN cable.
