I just had my cam belt and water pump with all associated rollers etc done at Peter cooper VW in Chichester for £400 inc VAT. They price matched a quote from an independent garage who quoted using genuine VW parts. £600 is way over the odds. Hope that helps!

Standard £400 from VW dealers.

Get it done! Main dealer will charge you £479 for the bits as quoted by JGOODWOOD. From VW main website, See below. I would recommend using a local VW Specialised, usually about 20-30% cheaper than that figure.

If your main dealer is within 5 miles of an Indy that will do it cheaper using OEM parts, they will match the price.  :happy2:

My Indy quote was around 40 miles away.. VW didn't mention anything about distance. To be honest, if I hadn't been able to produce a quote, I think they would have done it for £400 anyway.  :happy2:

^^^^ Good stuff.  :happy2:

The distance thing is what they told me. They probably said that as there isn't another garage within 5 miles!  :signLOL:

I'm getting mine done as a priority and the best qoute I have is £300 but that means travelling to Doncaster. Bit sketchy I know. However, working out fuel etc, it's still cheaper to travel there than any deal/indy i've got qoutes from. I wonder if VW would match the £300? Probably not.

Mine is booked in with Corkills VW in Wigan (NW) tomorrow. £399 for everything. Tried telling it was an extra £70 for the water pump and fitting too but after saying that is overpriced and not what the VW website shows and they said no problem. Oh and they're collecting my car from my house and dropping it off even though I live out of their 'local' radius.

If you can get a quote from them and they are using genuine parts VW should match the price..  Got to be worth an ask!

Ohhh, it is using genuine VW parts! I will give them a ring as my dealers only a few miles down the road. Doncaster is good few good miles!!

I see the VW website says they'll price match within 5 miles which means this could potentially not work but I'm gunna try anyway.

To be honest I don't know 100% but its not a dealer. Vagco.co.uk - guy called Simon. Had some excellent reviews from mates and indeed people on here.
