Title: 19" Alloys (again)
Post by: Genner on November 23, 2012, 05:03:34 pm
Before the forum police start, i have searched but would like some advice from previous owners  :P

Looking at buying RS4 Reps in 19" packaged with 235 35 19's 8.5j 45 offset

First question, anyone got a picture of them on the fastest colour (red)

Second The dreaded rubbing question

Third debate of 18's over 19's

Thanks guyz, it's a large purchase and only get one shot, so appreciate the advice  :happy2:

From my experience you might get some rubbing with those specs.

I'd recommend getting 19x8.0J ET45 wheels with 225/35/19 tyres if you don't want any rubbing whatsoever

The extra 1/2" really does make the difference between clearing and rubbing. I had 19" BBS CH's at 19x8 and ET48 with 235/35/19 tyres that rubbed on my ED30 even with the screw delete mod. Didn't rub badly, just under load on sharp corners.

I'm thinking of selling my genuine Golf R alloys with Dunlops at 235/35/19 and alloys at 19x8 ET50, which should fly on a MK5.

Mine are 19x8.5 ET42 - 235/35/19

No rubbing what so ever unless I hit a BIG dip in the road then I hear the tyre catch
