Not getting bored of the ED30 but fancy something a little newer and a little more 'special'
Did think about waiting for the new MK7 Gti but then looked at prices and running costs of this:

I don't need rear seats so no brainer isnt it!?
Anyone driven one, wonder what it would be like as a daily driver....
-
Stunning looking thing, never driven one.
I think Lotus have had a few bites of the 'getting it right' cherry, so just ensure you research and get the right build.
Epic plan, I salute you.
-
Cheers Mike
Its one of those cars where you think I cant run that, what if it goes wrong?
But hang on a mo most are still under warranty for at least a year, they do 30mpg, and the bad and good bit is the engine as it is made by Toyota
Plus its fast but not stoopid fast and nice and compliant so you can enjoy it on a good A or B road without fear of it properly biting you.
I did initially want you're new beemer, but as awesome a performance bargain as it is I fancy going the opposite of Q car for once. In fact that is only real negative I can think of, that it may attract wrong kind of attention.
At end of day though amazing what motors you can get for new Golf money nowadays and that should be saluted :signLOL: Roll on spring!

Top Cat may have driven an Evora - being a Lotus nut! :happy2:
-
I have a 1 year old daughter, otherwise I'd be in something equally stupid.
It's far more fun, far more stylish, probably will hold its money better - and well, you look at it and feel good inside.
Do it :happy2:

I'm sure your daughter would fit in the bonnet space until she is at least 3

Oooo good point about Top Cat. Top Cat!
I was feeling pretty good about all this until I read about the possible clutch problems
10k miles. new clutch, 30 hours labour, £3k :signLOL:

May have a drive out this weekend to JCT 600 in Leeds and poke a round a bit.....
And Mike yes you could easy get a 1-5 year old in the back! And a small Eastern European Au Pair as well probably

They do a 2+2 version for the Evora, alright for kids in the back up to the age of 5. :innocent:
For leonard; The newer the version the better. They were a bit pooh at first but have sorted out most of the problems now, you ideally need one with the tech pack and sports pack. The performance wont knock your socks off but they have the usual Lotus handling feel, meaning it is very rewarding and fun to drive. I would have one as a daily if i needed a daily. :sad1: Nobody buys them, Lotus are crap at selling cars and haven't a clue what this car should be competing against. The only people who buy them are Elise drivers when they are able to afford them. I think the clutches are silly money to replace as it is an engine out job, but i have only read about them going on tracked cars.
If you sign up on a forum called Seloc they have all the info you would ever need. It is free to go on there but you have to register to view it.
I would be putting my money on this one if it was me.

Cheers Top Cat that looks like a useful forum link.
It looks like early cars suffered a little with faults but dealers are keen to put them all right and upgrade the cars under warranty to later spec at service time.
I do like that grey car was swooning over it earlier  But part of me is drawn slightly to this:

Too jazzy?
-
It would need short ratio box as well as I can only afford the non S version :sad1:
-
Chrome orange is Luverly colour for them. :happy2: I think the short ratio box comes with the sports pack.
-
Think close ratio box is option unfortunately
What colour is you're Exige? Sexy looking shade of blue :happy2:
-
Gay Gulf Blue. :happy2:
-
Can't beat a mean as fook car in a :pomppomp: colour
-
I would take a couple of Evoras for a spin, you wont be disappointed on the driving characteristics front. And it wont be losing much more money. Pretty sure you could run it for 2 years and only lose 10% of it's value. Tax and tyres are were the money vanishes. :happy2:
-
Tax is 'only' £250
Can budget for rear tyres £500 and a service each year £250-500. Petrol costs similar to ED30. Buy at £30k serviced, do 2 years at 10k a year and sell for no less than £27.5k surely??? Elise prices must help prop up future values of its bigger brother. I know its all a gamble but going to be cheaper in long run than a new Golf I'm pretty sure. Not that I'm having a go at the Golf of course, but they have got bleedin expensive
-
There deffo some off piste cars that are a couple of years old that are proper alternatives. May cost more to run, but they'll depreciate less.
-
Maserati Gransport is looking decent value at the moment
-
And have you looked at Aston Martin Vantage...
-
I'd bum a Vantage into next week!
-
I'm sure BMW do a 30 day returns policy don't they  http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/aston-martin/v8-vantage-coupe/stunning-2006-amv8/755888
