Title: How to get the code for my rcd500

Hi,

Have just bought an rcd510 to replace the rcd 500 so I will be selling the 500 soon. However I have just realise that I don't have the code to the 500. I called vw and they want £15 to get it for me which is not too bad but I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the code somehow without having to pay?

Any help would be great :)

If rcd 500 was factory fitted to your car dealer should give it foc.
I got mine foc from dealer.

Pull the unit out and check for stickers on top, sometimes people put them on. My RNS had one. Also, have a look through the handbook folder, usually on a credit card somewhere.
