Hi guys I've had my MK5 about 6 months now and am doing a lot more miles for work than I was initially!!
Thinking of getting a diesel motor for economy, the car is such a pleasure to drive with so much power available but coupled with the fact I'm hoping to move out from home in the next 6 months!
Anyway enough rambling on!
Spec is as follows:
'05 GTi Black 3 Door
Just turned 60K Miles
Full VWSH apart from last service done 4 weeks ago which was done by AKS Tuning (Specialist) Had new fuel filter, Pollen Filter, Oil & Filter and Cam Follower.
Milltek Stainless system from Downpipe Back.
ITG Maxogen Induction Kit
Revo Stage 1+ Remap (Dyno'd at 280BHP ATF) with graph to prove.
Black leather seats in good condition.
RCD510 with MDI iPod adaptor installed in armrest.
Auto Lights
17 Monza wheels
Latest Recirc valve revision
Had new brakes all round 4 months ago, two new front tyres at the same time.
I know pictures would help but it's just a thought at the moment! Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Jamie

I'd say around 6.5k-7k but nothing is selling at the moment. Might be worth putting it back to standard over the next couple of months as you won't make anything extra from the mods. GLWS :happy2:

Hi mate
Thanks for your help, I don't have the standard parts I bought the car modified!
It's not a definite sale its more the sensible side of me kicking in!
I think I'll keep it if I can only get 6.5K-7K I was hoping for nearer 8K but perhaps thats unrealistic!
Thanks
Jamie

Someone in the newbie section just picked up an 05 plate gti with 68k miles for £5k mate.
I would keep it and if you can afford it grab a nasty diesel daily for a grand!
-
ouch 5K!!!
I'm definitely keeping her then!
Jamie.

You attract more buyers if you return the car to standard as quite a lot of people will be put off buying a modified car
I keep all my standard parts from my car when I change something

Ill swap all my standard parts for you modified ones :innocent:
Help you get that sale you need.....if not, let me know which parts your selling and ill take them off your hands

In 5 weeks time it will be 2013 , your car will be a 2005 in 2013 which makes it 8 years old . £6k i would say is good for a 8 year old car :innocent:

May be worth noting that Auto lights are standard and you won't get any more £'s for an latest revision DV :signLOL:

I'd wait until Feb when people have cash again. I spoke to dealer last week and he's never known it so quiet. Christmas is imminent, everyone is clearing debt and/or saving for deposits for when the house market becomes healthier. People are also very insecure in terms of work, so not making big purchases.
Lean times.

Thanks for the help guys!
I'm going to keep her I think!
I know shes a good motor and well looked after so I'd rather keep her!!

I was looking around for a mk5 gti up until recently, in some ways I wish I would have waited a bit longer since there are some nice gti's going for great prices over the last couple of weeks.

Just to give you an idea, I'm getting £6250 for mine as a p/x - 05 Laser Blue, 53k miles, Lux Pack, Armrest + CD Changer.
Bearing in mind that its 7 years old and a the MkVII is out in Jan it's hard to get any more for them......

When I was looking for a gti in may there was a 05 plate gti local with 80k on it and the guy was asking for £7590
His car is still up for sale on various sites now.
There were cars that came up for 5-6k back then but they were sold within a few days of advertising
I traveld 120 miles and got my 06 with 38k for £6200 as a private sale, I had to spend over £1000 straight away on the car to get the timing belt done and replace the cheap tyres. But I got a low Mileage high spec car that I knew the timing belt wouldn't need done for 4 years
The guy that I bought the car from said he had lots of interest
People are willing to pay a lot more from dealers as they can offer finance and a PX
My car will probably only be worth a few k in a few years when I go to sell it but that's just life all cars depreciate unless you buy classic cars. This is the main reason that I will never buy a new car
