That's been up for a while, I remember seeing it a few weeks back - yep should be around £28k.  I did think it odd why selling so soon.

Either a misprint or a scammer. "Pay bank transfer and ill deliver the car" sort of scenario.

Or you turn up with cash, get a bash over the head. Repeat, wash, rinse.

Trouble is that someone may go for it ! Has happened hundreds of times and then they come running to the Police to sort it out ! Why are people so naive ?

Latest one is a T5 Camper van for sale at £9k , the spec and age put it around £22000 . The buyer sent the money to the seller by bacs transfer expecting the van to be delivered to them !

Someone actually fell for that? Idiots. Reminds me of the below.

Yes it always makes me cringe when you hear the story from the victims mouth.

To address these and other online frauds is a new National Fraud Recording Dept where they will assist Police Forces nationally and internationally to bring these people who commit this sort of crime to justice. Unfortunately i believe that the banking ststem has caused alot of this to happen .

How and why has the banking system caused this to happen...

+1. How on earth did you draw that conclusion? We know that banks aren't flavour of the month, but that's an unusual statement to say the least.

Firstly bank employees have been opening accounts by the thousand as the personal bankers have been getting a bonus for every current account they open . Alot of these have been opened with fake documents and the actual person using the account is unknown. Also the bank system has been slow to act even when they are aware that current accounts have been used in fraud and the account still continues to run months after they have been given the evidence of such . Also since the Data Protection Act came into force they are slow to respond to requests and also fail to give the information required when asked by the investigating authority . This has caused thousands of more , if not tens of thousands of Production Order requests via a Crown Court . Just ask any court official , i have never had one refused , they are jsut being awkward. Also they have too few staff investigating the frauds which delays everything too. An example of such is that a specific account had received nearly 8000 payments into it over a 6 month period . The user was selling concert tickets which he did not have , this totalled over £80000 . Once we got into the account we found that they had received information about the account being used for fraud 3 months before this 6 month period started ETC ......... Wait for a Watchdog/Panorama type programme that may be on the horizon , if its not blocked by the powers that be for causing panic

I am sure bank staff have to follow rules to open accounts as there are regulations on doing so, If however they are presented with documents that are false surely the blame for that cannot be laid at the feet of the the bank clerk .... more to do with the laws that are protecting these type of people... data protection act is probably one of them, human rights laws another, I am sure a person in the force could name many more, But getting back on topic.... someone doing a CHAPS transfer into an account of a person they have never met for a car they have never seen is absolutely ..... Errm whats the word .... Fu##### stupid and the blame should rest at the feet of the retard that did it in the first place....
