:surprised: Take the adjusters out??
-
Pardon my ignorance but how will I do that and what will it do?
-
Are they coilovers or just lowering springs?

Are they coilovers or just lowering springs?
It's a cup kit. Shocks and springs.
Only have rear on but that shouldn't make it sit higher should it?
It's literally the exact same if not higher
-
Interesting. Was it the 35mm kit?

Ya it was, probably a waste of time then?
-
Got any pics?
-
ill stick up a picture tomorrow.
Any other ideas?? if its now low enough could i just buy some low eibach or h&r springs to muse with the fk dampers?

what car do you have, a gti?
If so the reason could be an incorrect part no. If they were off a diesel or somethin then they wouldn't lower it at all
-
May be a stupid question but why have you only fitted them to the rear.
Let me know the part number of the kit you bought and I will see what they are meant for.
-
Yes its a gti, i asked in a different thread what one to get and followed the recommendation
This is the link?
http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/en/Suspension-Tuning/Sport-Suspension/Sports-suspension-High-Tec-35-40-mm-fit-for-Audi-A3-Typ-8P-VW-Golf-5-1K-oxid.html?listtype=search&searchparam=FK99AI081
And the reason why i only did the rear was my mechanic had to leave after the rears :sad1:
the part number is above man, you'll be getting my business after christmas, thats for sure!!
Actually thinking coilovers now for the drop im after

Looks like you have got the wrong ones, they are for a 50mm strut??

yes deffo the wrong ones. If ever buying springs and they say they fit an altea then they are NOT for the gti. They have to specify GTI. I found this out the hard way also.

Unless it's an Altea FR TFSI :P
-
At least you only spent £70 odd wasnt it? I would be peeved if it was full price!
-
Dammit! Which ones should I have gotten? And could I keep existing dampers and just buy better springs then?
-
Looking at the venom website, the high tech suspension kit doesnt exist for the GTI

no because struts are wrong diameter too pal. I think front struts are 50mm on the ones you bought, should be 55mm. If they are 55mm then just buy springs.
-
I would personally just get some springs for your existing suspension and sell these on.
-
Get some H&Rs and you won't be disappointed :happy2:
-
OK so i cant use the dampers even if I buy springs?
May decide what to do so!
Would h&r springs on stock dampers be ok?
This was always just goin to be temporary till I saved for something better anyway

90% of folk on here with H&Rs are using them with stock dampers (including me). They were designed to work fine with stock dampers
-
And how is ride compared to stock?
Will prob just do this so!
-
Mine is just as good as stock
-
Almost the same as stock, feels slightly harder at times, but nothing uncomfortable :happy2:
I don't get any scraping - even with 5 adults in.
-
I did tell you on post #21 here
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,56759.15.html
That the kit was a 50mm strut
I do think that FK s site does not list this information properly so you could see if they will exchange them for the right suspension
