And the R32 lights are in, unfortunately i didn't get a before and after shot, but you guys all get the idea....
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz324%2Fdeago011%2F278D7CD8-E647-418D-9969-963A6EE07AE5-3188-000001224A3DCD96.jpg&hash=e69531a2d79c6d50afb7eb803561a3c77b922952)

So next to come will be the rear bumper on the car along with the exhaust some time next week, so i'll be back with an update then!

Its been a while! But i was waiting a very long time for my rear valance to be painted, but finally after returning from holiday it was pretty much ready.....

Before i start absolute top marks to Regal Autosport in Southampton. Ordered my Milltek Exhaust on the wednesday of the new year and it had to be ordered in from milltek. It was on my car by 2pm the friday 2 days later, and they were even kind enough to stick my pressed plates on too ;) so great service from them, and they're all nice people!

So excuse the dirt once again, winter eh?  :ashamed:

I went for the non-res catback (downpipe coming soonish) and I'm really happy with it, the tips are considerably bigger than the stock r32 ones, and its not too in your face on the noise front but has a lovely bass tone to it.

A big improvement on the stock rear imho!

Up next! Something from the good people at Awesome gti who have sent me £40 in vouchers too! Is this normal or have i been treated?

No points for guessing what i'm doing on my day off tomorrow!  :happy2:

I'm thinking of getting it done at plush automotive. I like the work they do there. Very clean and tidy!

No worries, sort it's not fantastic. It's hard to pick out the note of the exhaust as its only on my phone! Sounds a lot better in the flesh. It has a nice little gurgle when you let off at around 3000 too which is awesome.

Thanks for all the positive responses!

So the mods came to a bit of a stand still as i managed to be ill and signed off work for 2 months

But things are back on track!

After much searching and waiting and scouring forums for days and days whilst ill I managed to find exactly what ive been looking for!

they need a bit of tlc, the lips need a refurb but no dramas there as they were a steal!

Just waiting for my spigots, wobble bolts and need to order tyres and they'll be on.

I said xenons were coming next, but i lied! But they will do somewhen!

Air-ride next.....

So its been a long time! Been busy with other things and the car went untouched for a while, but i got major modders fever over the Christmas period!

This is how things were looking months back

Since this, the milltek cat back has gone to a new home with George10, and has been replaced with a BCS TBE with a 200 cell sports cat. I went for just the sports system as opposed to the powervalve and im really happy with it, still not crazy loud or motorway drone, but when you kick it it sounds nice and throaty and at idle has a nice hum.

I partly chose to switch because i didn't get on with the low hanging back box of the milltek, and could have caused even more problems after the following updates.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz324%2Fdeago011%2FEAA77143-1BCA-4DC1-A627-8E613DB783E8_zpsxqyhkxsk.jpg&hash=9ca1f183438cb521ecdfa3e81f1f8f96d0c1e6a2)

No low hanging boxes here!

Also installed an RCD510 DAB and a Bluetooth kit as i was still rocking CD's, so nice to have Spotify back on the phone when in the car!

a few revision parts

oh and a snow foam lance

So as promised in my last post, yesterday i said goodbye for the next 6 or so days..... excited!

Title: Re: Deago's '07 GTI - Bagged on V2 management - Hard lines
Post by: Deago on January 14, 2014, 09:14:50 pm
Where to start!

The stats

- Airlift performance from bags
- Airlift Double below slam rears
- Airlift rear shocks
- Airlift 4gallon skinny tank - painted gloss black
- Dual Viair 444c Compressors
- V2 management
- Hardlines
- Everything trimmed in alcantara

Finally got my car back from the lads at Studio in car, and boy have they done a mint job!

I purchased my air ride from car audio security in their end of year sale, and i got a great deal but it wasn't quite what i wanted as i was after performance bags. Luckily Shakey at studio managed to get my slams i'd bought from car audio switched for performance bags, and only had to pay the difference!  :happy2:

I was after something a little special and was trying to keep things in keeping with the black and gold theme i have going on with my LM's. So after chatting things out we decided to get the 4 Gallon air lift tank sprayed in a gloss black, with the dual 444's being shown off in a clean window. As i was going this far i thought screw it lets get hard lines in there too to really set it off! I'd also had the rear shocks changed to air lift shocks to allow me to get that bit lower as im only sporting 17"s. All the rear is trimmed in alcantara and i hope you all agree it looks very tidy and im so happy with the end result!

The v2 controller is fabricated in to the ash tray, forgot to get a picture of this i'll supply one soon!

I'll let the pictures do some talking from here. It was late when i picked the car up so i've only got shots from inside the garage. Hopefully if the weathers alright i'll spruce her up and get some more shots tomorrow and put them on here or my instagram: _ali_ward

Enjoy!

Looks nuts mate! You've had the same sorta boot build i've been thinking of. I say similar, but they are different so don't worry!

Does performance mean you can boost it about, take corners quick instead of the bags breaking in two?

Performance give better handling than coils and also allows you to keep the anti roll bar and have top camber mounts

To be honest, I went coils over bags as I simply don't trust air to break when I'm boosting and doing stupid things in corners. I would take air over coils anyday and would get it done tomorrow, but I simply don't trust it. I'm trying to to organise an outing in a charged Rs4 with "performance" are, by someone who doesn't do slow, so we'll see.

The performance bags felt better than my previous. Haven't had a chance to put them through their paces cos the roads are so damn wet

If you go on youtube accurair have two s4's one with bags and one with coils and the one with bags beats it.

It's personal choice at the end of the day, but the air suspension can take just as much as coilovers if not
More . They wouldn't make it otherwise :)

I chose to do a bag over coil setup on my corsa as there aren't any struts that are designed for it and that wasn't great handling. Compared to me coilovers, it was worse. But with the performance ones, they are engineered to perform well and do so.

I'd definitely take these performance struts over coils, but it is personal preference.

The slam struts handle very well too.. unless you are literally at 85% or more you don't notice the lack of a front roll bar.. the chassis is stiff enough to manage unless a mk4 which turns into jelly
At least from airlift on the mk5 performance vs slam is little difference.

Thanks man! Yeah its the more expensive option but its one single milled piece of aluminium. Tidies the bay up nicely too.

De Wiper!

Yeah de-wiper is already on the cards, just might as well wait out this rain a little bit before doing it. not that i use it that much anyway, most of the water runs off providing you keep it topped up with rain x or something similar.

OEM Xenons are most likely the next thing to land, after a votex front splitter too, need my side skirts coding, got my rev g DV and cam follower sat in my room for when i get enough time to change them over. Then wheels and paint need some love before UD comes round

Couple more pics of bits

Yeah unfortunately my phone stopped filming half way through for some reason. I did give it the beans a bit to illustrate things better, it has way more gurgle on letting off the pedal and is definitely louder at the 3500 revs and upwards. It started to rain a bit so didn't re-film it. But its way nicer than the old one and sits tidier too!

Looks good!

Yeah i like it fabricated in, and managed to keep the 12v for chargers etc too, doesnt look quite as flush, but im often charging my phone in the car so couldn't really live with having it covered up

Small update

wheels came back day before UD. And looked the nuts! all nice and polished up on the lips. centers resprayed BBS gold as they were a bit chipped and worn around the lug holes. Decided to get the inside barrels satin black too to keep them looking nice and clean.

Nearly there!

Ok so been a little bit of time since last post.

Tuk customs painted my ed30 lip, colour coded my skirts black, respray front bumper, respray bonnet, repaired my damaged wing, pulled the arches all round, and took the lip off completely on the inside of the arches.

It was a bit of a boring one this month as service and M.O.T was due but that's all done now before the weekend of shows

Also got a DA polisher and some other cleaning bits. Armrest should be turning up today also!
