Seriously thinking of gettin a golf R next year in June -July...cheapest R I seen on autotrader is 23-24k..do you think there's any chance it will drop to around 20-21k by next June-July..cheers

Yes, by next year they should be dropping below £20k for low spec early manual ones. :smiley:

Yes.  There has been a couple of low spec ones for under £22k already.

if you can afford 21k, can you not afford 23k? when talking that kind of outlay surely 2k ish can be made up by being bit more frugal, working overtime, extending credit etc? if u want one a 2k shortfall aint gonna stop u  :party:

With the ease of how little you need to do to these to get into the low 4's 0-60, they are surely they will be the performance bargain of the year when they hit £20k.  Residuals should be good for this reason  :driver:

That's why I'm seriously thinking about getting one mate..was thinking of getting a wavetrac diff fitted to my Eddie in jan-feb but don't think it will happen now

Will the Audi S3 not produce similar performance level at the same state of tune ?  Even the facelift can be had for sub 15k now.

Need a 4dr mate,the Audi sportback are around 21-23k now,but I prefer the golf

Or just get an Ed35. A lot fewer on the road - approx 340, and just a tuneable, just not 4wd. Getting the NQSBBK this week, milltek and stage 2. Should be good for 330+ bhp  :smiley:

No I will put something up.  But to be fair all I would have done is stage 2, full milltek and brakes!!  A nice easy route to 330BHP.  I had it RR at JKM's apparently conseravtive rollers recently at 300bhp at stage 1 - They make better figures than the Ed30, as my old stage 2 eddy was 'only' 305BHP!

Just looked on autotrader & there ain't a lot of dsg 5dr golfR's.. Only 15!!!
