Can this be done? Don't really want to fork out for a sports cat just before Christmas, but want to lower my EGT's for Stage 2.
-
Yes you just need to get a reducer fitted to mate up with the standard system.

I have spoken to nige at BCS a few weeks ago.
They can supply you a 3" downpipe with what ever cat you want with a reducer to connect to the standed system.
I have also spoken to r-tech about mapping and they said that will be ok.
Should see good results, with out the cost of a full system. :happy2:

The main cat is 800CEL IIRC so you will get a much better gain in replacing it with a sports cat.
Pipewerx make an excellent quality downpipe with sports cat that mates directly to your standard cat-back - for about £499. These are available from ebay or pipewerx directly.
A lot cheaper than a £1000+ for a full turbo-back system and within 2bhp of the gains :happy2:

Our GTI is at Cobra as I type this having a full 3" system made for development. They will be available in a week or 2 and will be cheaper than the lot. I have told them to make the downpipe so it fits the standard cat back and then go on to develop the full 3".
The full system won't be much more than the RRP of a Milltek downpipe alone.

Cheers 4 the replies; I just don't fancy spending £500+ atm - think I'll just do the Pre-cat delete and runs some VCDS logs.
