Hi everybody,
I would like to fit a Golf 6 MFSW into my Golf 5 from 2007 which already has the MFSW. I have searched a lot on the internet and what i know now is that i need the following parts:
- MK 6 MFSW (Essential) :happy2:
- 1K0 953 549 CH steering wheel controller (getting buttons to work) (Confirmed) :happy2:
- 1K0 959 963 C slipring. (Confirmed) :happy2:
- 1K0 953 513 G CC MK 6 C/C stalk for getting C/C to work." (Confirmed [Only needed if you have cruise control]) :happy2:
I then have to inject some code into the VAG COM but i am unsure which... I have never touched VAG COM ever before but i am very familiar with computer coding in general so shouldn't be a problem.. otherwise i will get some one with knowledge help me with the coding.
All assistance will be appreciated, i will eventually make a DIY out of it so other people can enjoy it as well.
Thanks,
- Christoffer

I have done this to my old car, and so have several others
Yes you need the wheel
You definately need the CH controller
You need a C version slip ring (you probably have this already)
G version Cruise Stalk if you have cruise. A and F versions don't work with the CH controller
btw. I have a wheel in the for sale section and I also have the CH controller
-
I am not really sure if i have the C-version of the slip ring... Also i forgot to mention that it's the PLUS version of the golf but according to a lot of people, the coding/electronics should be exactly the same.
Is there any differences between CC and C slipring?
So, the full part number for the correct cruise control stalk (i have cruise in mine) is 1K0 953 513 G?
About your parts... couldn't find it in the forum, can you send a link to it?

- 1K0 959 963 CC slipring (i'm unsure what kind of effect this has?). I've read some threads that this is also needed for getting the buttons to function. (Not confirmed to be needed)
- 1K0 953 513 G CC MK 6 C/C stalk for getting C/C to work. Someone mentioned "9B9 for black?" (Not confirmed to be needed)
I then have to inject some code into the VAG COM but i am unsure which... I have never touched VAG COM ever before but i am very familiar with computer coding in general so shouldn't be a problem.. otherwise i will get some one with knowledge help me with the coding.

there is no CC version
Just C and D
I haven't tried one with a D version, so best to stick with C version

@danishmkvgti - I saw that thread, that's where i got a bit of the information from. :happy2:
@Eddie - Doesn't look that expensive, but i guess that the 560£ fitted price would change if you should fit it in Denmark.
So... the cc-stalk is now confirmed too. How many buttons did you guys get to work in total? I have read a lot of different results but i am quite unsure which buttons that people actually got to work. I will install a RNS510 later on in the car.
Thanks for all the help so far. :happy2:

A long time since i started getting this crazy idea.. I have just bought the MFSW/CC-stalk and MFSW-controller and i now need to source the slipring. Can i by any chance find out what partnumber my slipring has without taking it all apart?
I have become familiar with VCDS as well as i coded xenons and navigation into my car as well, could anybody help providing the code needed to get the buttons to work?
-
Ok i have been able to source the slipring which has a Part # of: 1K0 959 653 C I know that you would usually use the slipring: 1K0 959 963 C but i have not been able to find this for sale anywhere (havent asked at VW though). The part comes from a Golf Plus 6 (mine is a 5). Does anybody know if i will be able to use this slipring?
-
You should be able to use that slipring, but ask EddieNL, he can answer that question :happy2:
-
that slip ring will be fine

Sounds great, all parts ordered. Can anyone tell me what needs to be coded. I guess there have to be added some additional stuff?

Hi everyone...
I finally got the MFSW fitted into my car! I just have the problem now that the buttons still functions as like the old steering wheel was put in. The first main module is coded right, but the second small module in the steering wheel itself has a strange code, heres the log:
Address 16: Steering wheel Labels: 1K0-953-549-MY9.lbl
Part No SW: 1K0 953 549 CH HW: 1K0 953 549 CH
Component: J0527 056 0111
Coding: 0000532
Shop #: WSC 12345 123 12345
VCID: 7AFB377E359D6BC86EF
Subsystem 1 - Part No: 3C8 959 537 D
Component: E221__MFL-TK6 H07 0022
Coding: 00000226
Shop #: WSC 00000
No fault code found.
The Part No: also differs from what i have seen around, 00000130 doesnt work when coding the system. The steering wheel is made in Feb. 2013 so its almost brand new. Could it be that the button-controller doesnt work with this?

ive just had mk6 mfsw fitted to mk5 but i was lucky as my wheel came with airbag & loom.
-
Guys, just one more question. Does your buttons for ''next track'' works on mk6 gti steering wheel and rns 510 in golf mk5??
Because mine don't. :sad1:
Do i have to upgrade my get away to ?
-
what wheel did you buy as there are 2 possible looms for a mk6 wheel

Hi.
The mk6 < and > buttons communicates through BAP as far as i know. If you code the RNS510 with BAP you will lose NAVI on the MFD but the < and > will work with it. If you use DDP (disabling BAP) they will not work but you will get NAVI on the MFD.
In the meantime i had the mk6 MFA premium cluster installed which works flawlessly with the mk6 mfsw. Can def. recommend it!
