Title: Dubmeister - Pressed Plates
Post by: ArildStavrum on December 05, 2012, 09:34:50 am
Sorry if this has been asked before but have many poster used Dubmeister for pressed plates?

I'm wary of sending my original drivers licence and original V5 to a company I know little of and to be honest their website is a shambles.

However the pressed plates look excellent!

Cheers

I saw their stall at edition 38 and wasnt even impressed with the way the handle customers.

I would highly reccomend these guys though!

You could always take it into your local shop which makes the pressed plates, and just wait while they are done? I wouldn't like the idea of sending off my V5 and drivers license!

if you look on the Dubmeister website they have local suppliers. i took my V5 and driving license to one of their suppliers who verified i was who i said i was, and then sent off a form. i got my plates in the post a few days later.

I got my plates through a dubmeister group buy and sent copies via email, although that might have been only for the group buy.

nice one, thanks.

There is a supplier West of London in Hayes that I could take a trip to.

I may go for the Ebay option first though to see what they are like!

I brought the road legal ones from eBay that came from Ireland. Top quality, much better than the last set i had from Dubmeister. The legal documents thing is a tick in the box, but there are alternatives.

I got my plates from these guys. Made them the same day as I ordered, sent and received the next day, no need to send any docs etc. The carbon raised resin ones I have are £50, but, the quality is SO good and they do look awesome have a look at my car in 'members rides' highly recommend these guys, even though they aren't pressed they do look really good (no I don't work for them lol!)

All of the eBay companies selling pressed plate alleging to be road legal are wrong.

There are currently only TWO companies that hold BSA approval for the current style British Numberplate - Dubmeister and Europl8.

Alot of the ebay companies go "ohh we put the company name and BS number on so they are legal". Well no. The reason why Dubmeister and Europl8 have their BSA status for their plates in because their numberplates are actually reflective and confirm to the legal British Standard. Many of the eBay ones do not reflect to the required standard. Yes, only 1 in a million times will any police officer etc know about this, but if you get a ticket etc for it, you won't have a leg to stand on.
