Title: Best Tyres?

This is a subject that has probably cropped up a million times, but is also one that can continuously change so thought I'd ask around.  :smiley:

Time has come for 2 new tyres. Which ones can people recommend having on my eddy? Looking for a decent all round tyre.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric  :notworthy:

Fantastic in the dry, Unreal grip in the wet  :happy2:

One of the big car magazines did a test on our very own MK5 GTI and these were best overall out of all the premium brands

Quite a few on here are recommending them too

Main 2 seem to be Michelin PS3's (on mine) or Good Year assy 2's. others people go for are Conti sport contacts, Pirelli P Zero's and Vreds

I have:
Summer: Goodyear F1 AS2's, just grip and bags of it; don't last very long.
Winter: Goodyear Ultragrip, noticeably better than F1's in low temps, snow, ice etc... can't touch F1's around 10*C +

I went with the Michelin PilotSport 3's, they are incredibly grippy in wet and dry conditions, but last longer than the Goodyear F1's. It's swings and roundabouts though, as they are a bit noisier than than the Pirelli P Zero Rosso's and Continental Sportcontact 2's I've had previously.

Thank you to all with decent input. Much appreciated guys. For my All round tyre I've decided it's probably going to be the F1's.

When I buy a car for track, it won't be a golf.
When I buy a car for the snow, it won't be a golf.
When I buy an all round car to drive me from a to b and put a smile on my face along the way I will buy a golf, and i did! Maybe answers your question as to what I mean by an all round tyre!
