£450? Have you compared what you're looking at on eBay against what you can buy on the Apple site? For reference a 16Gb WiFi 4th generation iPad is £399.

Yep :happy2:

I've ordered 30 iPads in the last 8 months for work. Couldn't have done that without VAT receipts!

you get them direct from apple?

is it worth having cellular?

what is jailbrake exactly?

I don't personally have a 3G one as I only tend to use it where a WiFi network is available.

We only buy Apple kit direct. The margins for resellers are non-existent, so you can very rarely get stuff any cheaper anyway. John Lewis is worth a look though. They normally offer a longer warranty period.

And I've no idea what jailbreaking is. I've heard it mentioned a lot, but it's not something I'd be interested in doing.

Remember to order via Quidco for 4% cashback!  :happy2:

As already mentioned, dont buy an iPad 3 when you can get an iPad 4th Gen for the same price. If you buy direct from Apple, you always know you are guaranteed to get the latest model.

Main difference with ipad 3 vs 4 is the 4 has a slightly faster processor and the new lightning connector so its more future proof.

If you want a cheaper option look at the apple refurbished section. All the refurbished items come with a full warranty and look brand new anyway. They just come in a plain box instead of the usual ipad box.

None in stock at the moment but the 16gb wifi ipad 3 is £315.

Yeah, I'm gutted about that. I ordered two early last week, just before the 4% offer came on :sad1:

Apple take bloody ages to pay out mind.

I bought an ipad 2 and im happy with mine.

Use it for web browsing rather than using my iphone. Prefer a bigger screen and for a few games.

Missus uses it for bbc iplayer and youtube.

Not really fussed with the camera as i have an SLR camera..

Paid £260 brand new for a 16gb wifi from Dubai Duty Free

I bought a refurbished iPad 2 direct from Apple, so that comes with 12 months warranty, new shell, new screen, new box etc.  It's brand new really... but for £259 delivered!!

They don't come up that often but create a bookmark on: http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/ipad/ipad2

I bought the 3rd gen on my last trip to Vegas for ~ £320. Was slighty gutted it was the 'latest' iPad for only a month (thanks Apple!). Although the 4th gen is not much of an upgrade.  I have the 16GB wifi. I don't need the celular one, just tether it to my Galaxy S2 if I need to use it while out and about :happy2:

I find I am using it all the time. Don't enjoy browsing on my phone anymore! Great for watching iplayer or movies in the lunch break :happy2:

You may as well go for the latest as the older ones don't sell for much less.

It had been rumoured for a number of months that it would be refreshed with the lightning connector and minor spec boost. Always best to do some research!! ;)

Yeah wasn't following the rumours about the large iPad because it was all about the mini. But anyway not much of an update and loving the iPad :happy2:
