anyone ever buy one of these cheap ebay ones and manage to retrieve the SKC/PIN from their clusters....
really struggling to find someone in ireland to do this cluster upgrade for me to the point that i may have a go at it myself.
i know its a cheap cable and cd but has to be worth a go,from what i read dealers only tend to supply new and take your old one as a trade in,
any links to a good seller or any other ideas???

I have the one you mention, works well on a mk5 up to mid 2006 (basically xx2 clocks) & also on my 2007 Altea and a mates mk4.
Did I see you have 963 clocks? It'll probably not work. I tried reading the immo of my 973 clocks without success. If it did work you can just email the dump with 'new' clocks to a guru.
You'll need someone with a proper Commander setup, like Kalu. If you had both sets of clocks and a few days with the car off the road, sure some sort of post and return could be organised.

Marko drop kevinm a PM, he's done the Highline upgrade on his Ed30 here in Ireland and might be able to point you in the right direction, if there is someone here who can do it.
As said by Skard it will depend on which clocks you have. I had 874 clocks and the only person who can do those is Kalu.
