Below is the details for a Northern (Manchester) Rolling Road Day available to all members.

Awesome GTi Rolling Road Day

Come along to Awesome GTi in Manchester for a VAG Rolling Road Day.
Come see all that you have missed over the Christmas period and have a catchup. Awesome will have their rollers running for a Maximum of 20 Cars so this will be on a strictly first come first served basis. I will need to take a deposit of £15.00 for those wanting to go on the rollers as I will need to pay over for 10 Cars the weekend before to guarantee the garage for the event. I will try and arrange a BBQ or Food of some kind which can be purchased (cheap :) ), ideas on food is welcome.
COSTS:
The event to attend and meet-up is FREE!!
Rolling Road (2WD) £35.00 for Power Runs & Printout
Rolling Road (4WD) £45.00 for Power Runs & Printout
We need a minimum of 10 Cars to go on the rollers to confirm the event

I was there yesterday with my mk5 and somehow pulled 420 lb/ft of torque on their dyno, so I'm not really sure of the accuracy of it! It's just stage 2 with the required mods, bhp was about right at 253 though.

Peak power is likely to be accurate but low and mid power will be incorrect.

There's no way my old car was making 40ft/lb over stock, I'll stick to my 20% theory. Add me as a maybe for now, as I won't know for sure yet. :happy2:
Wouldn't it be easier to just recalibrate the rollers so they give the correct figure?

I'm going to try and book the week off upto this, Got loads of holidays left so should be ok as long as it isn't fully booked.

Right, quick update on the event for you:
I will be messaging everyone on the RR list tomorrow with details on how to pay the deposit.
This will need to be in and paid by Sunday 27th January 2013, I will then organise the list based on car type as this will give more opportunities to get through more cars on the day.
The Awesome GTi rollers need to be setup for each car base, and this will ensure that no one is disappointed by running out of time!!
The charity event will have 2 raffles running, one for the APR remap and the other in the form of a tombola for the other prizes that have kindly been donated.

As it stands all 20 places have been taken, but come along for the day we are looking to have 1h - 1h30m of pay on the day slots from 3pm.
Just depends on setup and staff for the day which is why Awesome have asked for it to be max of 20 pre-book!!

Having been to a few RR days, the one thing I wished is that folk would wear a badge or some other bit of identification showing who they are. IMO it's always good to put a face to a name and know to whom your talking to at these events.

We have limited it to 20 just in case there were a load of different wheel bases to set the dyno up for.
Come and see me on the day ... i have 2 others that also want to roll if there is time.

The car park is first come first served for the 10 or so spaces I have, the rest will be reserved for those going on the rollers.
Only car that has a spot reserved is the R8 that is attending.

No result from me as the RR software couldn't pick up my engine's rpm. :confused: This also happened to a Cupra that went a couple of places before my run. :sad1:
There was also an initial dyno related issue with John's car but eventually they got it dynoed.

Seen that on a couple of the cars that run today. Luckily mine was ok, but i think the one before it and after had the same problem (Was a silver audi a3 before, then i think a greeny grey coloured mk5 gti)

My graph...the proper one LOL.
330bhp by 3500rpm and 350bhp by 4100rpm.
Torque holds well on WMI compared to the stage 2+ cars without it..... Over 400lbft of torque from 2400rpm to over 5000rpm. :driver:

Mine & Dave (Chungy) is an ongoing competition, both 2.0TFSI, Both APR Stage 2+ and both with similar mods.
Again yours is a 2.0 Hurdy, without the WMI will have been about the same power.

Again yours is a 2.0 Hurdy, without the WMI will have been about the same power.
You need WMI Jon.
