Title: Is this oil ok??

Hi all
Just been down to my local homebase to get some top up oil as its half price (£7.99 1lt). I brought castrol edge 5w 30 fully sync as it says on bottle for vw. My car is set to time/distance not longlife and was just wondering would it be fine to use as top up?
