Just be wary - success on the VAG platform depends on how much R&D has been done to sniff out the pid's to interface with the software and app they have developed. You may find that it will give you just generic OBDII information and not much else.

That's what I'm wary off! Or it's gonna upset the ecu...

It will not upset the ECU at all if it is a read only device, which it looks like it is. Only pid it will be bale to access is fault code reset I would have thought.

i think Darren (mortygttdi) has one of those - but he's of a VXR persuasion nowadays. i've seen it running on his engine and it looks a handy bit of kit

There is an app for Android called "torque" which is free https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquescan (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquescan) that pretty much does the same thing. The pro version costs £3.

Here is a list of dials that can be displayed:
http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Dials (http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Dials)

Get a Bluetooth ODB reader from ebay for just over £10:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-Torque-Car-ELM-327-OBD2-OBDII-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Interface-CAN-BUS-/110761891151?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item19c9ec554f I got mine from this seller - my reader works fine.

So, if you have an adroid phone, this works out ten times cheaper tha. iobd2 product!!

Give it a go, the for sake of little over a tenner, its worth a punt - even for the fault reading / clearing funtion alone!  :happy2:

Hope this helps

Rich
