Hi
New to the forum and looking to buy a standard (DSG) GTI in the very near future.
My commute round trip is just under 80 miles each day mostly on motorway and fast A roads.
What kind of MPG can I expect?
Thanks

If you drive sensibly, below the boost 35+. If I drive like a Sunday driver I can touch 40mpg, which I managed when I first go the car, now I average below 30.
High octane fuel seems to provide more mpg.

Expect 28-32 MPG on most Journeys. However since your journey will involve steady runs you could see 35 or a little more.
Expect 25 MPG when suffering from lead foot!

I rarely see over 30 in my ED30- saw 33 the other day on a long journey- loads of traffic though so couldn't get my foot down. Highest average I ever got but only had the car 2 months.
Trip today on the motorway I was watching the mpg - if keep it slightly below 3000 rpm seems to get about 10 mpg higher than if its slightly over 3000 rpm so that seems to be the magic number - as stated above keep it off boost if you want the mpg - bloody hard to do though as boost so sooooo much fun!

My Stage 2 GTI (DSG) did 220 miles to Edingurgh and back today, half motorway and half A roads
Averaged 29.5mpg

On a motorway run of 20+ miles I can easily get 34mpg. Shorter journeys and around town closer to 29mpg. I have seen 40mpg on a congested M3 when the only option is to follow the car in front.

On my 13 miles drive home from the golf club yesterday I managed an Average of 42.7mpg altho it did take me twice as long as usual :signLOL:
