Remap. Exhaust. Xenons high line and RNS, will see you right
-
EGR delete?
DPF delete (if fitted)?
-
Remap
Exhaust
Wheels
Hit it with the lowering stick
WALK
ARB's
Keep you happy for a while. :happy2:
-
as mentioned also r32 brakes have a read of my build thread
-
I'd start with a remap and some lowering springs.
-
I am new to modding a GT TDI 140 myself, to date I've got a remap , WALK and a Cold Air Induction kit.
She's currently being repaired at the mo after a incident in a car park.
A remap is most recommended I'd say, completely changes the car in my view.
Next on my list are Highline and some better brakes !
-
how are you finding the walk kit
-
how are you finding the walk kit
Its a subtle plus, obviously my car isn't driven on a track but I do find walk helps with stuff like motorway banking , some twistys and when taking tight roundabouts and such like.
It's not something you notice immediately but when you could use it , it seems to raise its head

I've got myself a Jetta sport. You have to remember also there are a couple of different 140bhp engines. Both 8v & 16v versions of the PD engine & the later spec 140 CR engine.
I've started a different way. Derestricted the airbox, new oil feed & return for the turbo, egr heater delete.
I've got these parts already to be fitted when I get some holiday time:-
Cold air feed & induction kit
Jetex exhaust system
312mm discs
Still to buy:-
Coilovers
Walk
Polybushes
Remap.
Mines a 2.0 16v (bkd) 140bhp PD engine - so manifold, turbo, s3 intercooler & hard pipework is also on the cards.
-
I did remap and decat completely changed my tdi, alot sharper on pickup
Recommended by me 100% im a little stuck on what to do next for more bhp without going bigger turbo as budget doesnt allow yet
-
Cheap job maybe to do a cat bypass pipe & a mufflerectomy?
-
I'm going to sound daft now, But what the hell is a WALK and a mufflerectomy?! :scared:
-
Walk is a Whiteline Anti Lift Kit and a mufflerectomy is where you remove the silencer :happy2:
-
Does removing the silencer make any difference performance wise? I already have a decat pipe
-
Wont removing the rear muffler make it sound more Massey Furguson like?
-
depends on the car - youtube it and see what they sound like - quite popular in the USA!
-
thanks for all the info guys, im thinking of remap defo, and ifi get the dpf removed will it fail mot?, i dont want loads of bhp just few more, lol, also im trying to get hold of highline clocks, and also looking for the mk6 gti steering wheel.
this will sound silly, but what does walk do, i seen a few been sold but what does it do?
also i want to treat the car to a full valet, get rid of stone chips, and get wheels refurbed, can anyone recomment anywhere, prob arounf ether plymouth as thats where in=m getting drafted or halifax west yorkshire
thanks guys

best look for the highline clocks on german ebay....
good few sets on there...
WALK...whiteline anti lift kit..complete overkill if your not doing trackdays imo
eddy-nl has one mk6 mfsw wheel left i think..but you'll need at least a controller and a colum switch
:happy2: :happy2:
-
what sorta price will i be looking at for the full lot? will i get much cange from 700? also ill get over to german ebay lol
-
mfsw is about 500 on its own with controller
clocks will fetch 150 i would guess PLUS YOU NEED SOME WORK GETTING THEM CODED TO YOUR CAR
not sure on WALK
-
The 140 shouldnt have a dpf aswell
-
Check out my thread, Mine was once a 140bhp Tdi
