Hi
If I wanted to fit cheaper standard Golf wheels to my GTI as a temp measure to give the Monza 2 18" a rest/refurb etc is this possible?
What is the minimum size our GTI's can take. Anyone done this? 06 plate here.
Thanks :driver:

Not sure why the cost of the wheels matters to fitment?
If your brakes are standard then 16" 5x112 mk5 fitment alloys or steels fit.

Smaller wheels are cheaper to buy. So I'm guessing he wants to know the smallest size possible.

Cheers folks. :happy2:
Yes, I was asking as I have a set of 18" Monza 2 so want 4 cheap wheels/tyres as extra set. Used the smaller the wheels and tyres the cheaper they are on eBay etc. :fighting2:
So 16"5 x112 mk5 alloys will do on my 2006 GTI with standard brakes.

Don't forget to also get a similiar offset to your present monza rims.

So 16" 5 x. 112 stud pattern fits.
Anyone know the ET of Monza 2 with 18" Dunlop Sport maxx II ?
I was hoping to pop on a set of standard 16 golf mk 5 alloys as temp wheels.

They'll fit if they come from a mk5.
I recently sold OEM 16" steels for way more than the 17" Audi alloys that replaced them, so check other sizes too.
Tyre wise ideally they should be 205/55/16 or 225/45/17 to keep the speedo accurate.
