Title: Replacement Bulbs For Xenons
Post by: Betty02 on December 20, 2012, 09:47:09 am
Picked up my new MK5 Golf yesterday, it's a project and needs some work but that's fine, now the car came with xenons but no bulbs, has anyone a link to a cheap set of bulbs? Was reading some ford xenons fit? Any ebay links or models I can search for?

Secondly only 1 xenon has a small box on the back, not sure if this is the ballast or not small black box with red plastic on too? ANy ideas?

And lastely a set of covers as the backs are open so obviously want to sort this out!

Cheers!

Any ds2 bulbs should fit they usually cost about £110 for good ones and cheap ones are all they way down at about 5 quid... wouldn't recommend them tho.

The box on the back you are talking about is an igniter they are usually about £50 used over here i think not to sure. I know when i got mine i ordered them from america as 2 new over there was working out cheaper than i could get one used over here.

I've just ordered a set of Osram SVS. Can't wait to see what they're like. OEM colour at 4300k but a better light output than standard or even Osram Cool Blue Intense 5000k, which everyone seems to rave about.

I'll let you know how I get on!
