Title: Possibly looking for a Tiguan
Post by: Lone_Par on December 20, 2012, 11:12:24 am
Alright folks. The wife bought a Ford Kuga back in March and whilst its been a decent car for her, the road noise coming from it is horrendous. I've kind of convinced her that a Tiguan is a better bet. Budget is around £16k so I know we are looking at a 59 or 10 plate with approx 30k on the clock. Realistically we will be looking to go through a VW dealer as we will need to possibly take a small amount of finance to cover what we get for the Kuga.

Anyway - any other Tiguan owners able to advise what to look out for and what optional extras are worth trying to get?

Cheers

Gaz

We have one as a works car.  Drives well but clutch is quite heavy when stuck in traffic.  Boot isnt very big, very short first gear but it has a nice amount of torque.  Virtually no extras on ours, not even cruise control.  I do like it and would consider one (with more spec).  High up driving position, handles well and 'feels' safe to be in.   HTH

Do these have anymore interior space than a Golf, or is it all about the driving position?

Rents had one for 2 weeks.. TDI, black wtih cream leather, very nice all round, however this one had some serious electrical gremelins and went back.  I  found the gearbox no where near as nice as the GTI.
