Title: 0 - 60mph times.
Post by: swgti on December 20, 2012, 08:20:05 pm
Curious to find out especially from those who have had theirs mapped what times people have acheived from their cars if they've had them timed accurately.

I was looking at 6.27 secs mapped accurately using start/end sensors. That was last year, although i'm more stance orientated now, which would make my 0-60 speed slightly higher now.

5.7 seconds stage 2+ on a manual GTI with my race logic performance box, I only got this time once and I felt it was a good run on the set up I had , I hit 5.8 a few times but 5.9 -6.0 sec was a fairly repeatable time.

Consistent 3.8 seconds 0-60 with a Racelogic Performance box (GPS) in the Golf R. Also did a 3.4 second run downhill just to prove the 3.8's aren't LOL.

4.4 seconds 0-60 in my old DSG Ed30 when running R888's and using 100bhp shot progressive nitrous system.

Gti manual k04 conversion. 5.03. At inters this year. Loads quicker now as i have made a few more upgrades and lightened the load a little. Hoping to be in the 4's this coming year. Not bad for a manual.

That is a superb time from a manual Gaz :happy2: you should be I'm the 4's with the extra oomph you have given the same grip levels. You need to take me for a spin in yours

Yours is manual though Gaz, but I'd have expected 4's from it. Having said that the guys in the USA are struggling to get clean launches with the manual golf R's and tend to do low 5's too.

I'm sure there is a late 4's in it John with a little more practise/less mechanical sympathy, 0.02 of a second less and I'd of been there

wow, 3.8 out of a R,  :congrats: and 4.4 out of an ED30  :jumping:

without looking at your full thread John, what power and torque are you at at present?

thinking on, one of the answers from Ralph Hosier (sp?) in Evo to a letter was that as a rough rule of thumb a 50 bhp increase equated to a 0.5 sec decrease, so anyone running a 327bhp Ed30 should be around 5.4 seconds? 377bhp = 4.9 seconds (but of course if had lightened the car by stripping it out and are running 888's this time can be achieved with less power)

379bhp and 360lbft. (314whp on a hub dyno)

I was running 440bhp and 510lbft on nitrous in the ED30 and that was on a Dyno Dynamics set of rollers. With R888's, full suspension, weight reduction, DSG map, Quaife etc etc

AND still couldn't get lower than 4.4 to 60mph. :sad1:

just goes to show the traction 4wd difference if 379bhp = 3.8 but 440bhp can only achieve 4.4 with 2wd. suppose wil have to get the VW driver mag, but it does beg the question what time the APR Golf R is capable of :rolleye:

It quotes 3.3 seconds for the 0-60 sprint on the APR stage 3 car!  :happy2:

Mine should be faster than that next year!!! :innocent:

4.7 at inters this year. Massive boost problems spiking at 2.3bar and dropping off like hell. Hoping to get as close as i can to a 3sec next year.

Best time 0-60mph 5.29s with DSG GTI (k03) stage 2. Measured with race chrono and external 10hz gps receiver, should be very accurate. edit: I also have a g-force meter and by the looks of it, traction will limit acceleration to about 4.3-4.5 even if I had all the horsepower in the world.

I managed 4.2 0-60 12.7 1/4 at Inters 2010 fastest car in class by nearly 1 second
I'll try to post the time slip up on here, Imho think it was a good time for Brunters sh*tty surface!
I Raced Hurdy all day when he had the nitrous on the Ed30 had lots of fun
We ran a turbo dynamics K04 hybrid with a full weight car & Giac race tune that year
Power was around 400 hp with the same torque
The cars slower to 60 now with more power but faster after that so I'd guess 400hp / 380-400 ftlb is the ideal power with a DSG box + R1R / 888's  :driver:

The sky's the limit for 4WD.
