Installed it yesterday, a straight swap for the RCD 510 that was put in by the previous owner.
All works spot on except the track up and down buttons dont work on the steering wheel, and also have nothing on the MFD relating to track names or anything?
Activated the Sat Nav in VAS PC at work today, but not sure what else needs doing? Any ideas or someone local with VAG COM would be great, im in West Sussex?
-
Think it just needs coding in
-
Hopefuilly thats all as I love having it appear on the dash and using the buttons..
Anyone in West Sussex able to help?
-
as you work for vw surely you should manage this simple task :signLOL:
Always makes me laugh when I get phone calls from vw master techs asking me about coding
-
Only been there a few weeks so it's all still new to me at the moment. Am I right that I need to go on to channel 37, and disable or enable it and reboot the rns510?
-
I would say that BAP and shortpress are ticked on the RNS510, so they need to be unticked

try either of the above depending on which version of rns you have
reboot the RNS after coding
make sure navigation is added to the gateway

As im using VAS PC at work thought its different software to VCDS.
But im sure I can sort that somehow, or i'll find a car audi place local to me who has VCDS.
I have added Nav to the Gateway, but didnt realise I would have to do any other coding.
-
you can use VAS to code it
Go into radio with VAS and see how long the coding is
then use the coding above depending on how long your coding is
