Since installing a polar fis I have lost the audio menu in my highline display.
Polar suggested that I pull the fuse for my stereo to reset it, this brought back the audio menu for a day then it vanished again.
I have tried to reset the stereo by pulling the fuse, last time I left the fuse out for 12 hours and still no audio menu.
I do not have a polar fis Installed in my car any more but still no audio menu.
Auto polar deny that there box caused the issues and it is my fault for swapping can gateways!
Any suggestions to try and fix this? I have VCDS
-
Have you reset the cluster by removing the fuse?
-
what radio have you got?
Absolute nonsense from polar about changing the gateway
when you scan the car do you get a fault in the gateway that it can't find the radio
-
I have a RCD510
This is the fault codes

I have unchecked the sound pack from the can gateway as I though my car had the sound pack when I bought the new gateway
-
The radio faults I posted first were what was caused when I installed the polar box but did not come back after removing them.
-
I take it the polar FIS has been removed now?
If it has take the 75 Telematics out of the coding in the gateway
Check your coding on the RCD510 to make sure the sound system is not coded
Clear all the faults either by using the clear all DTC or by going into each module

Yeah it has been removed,
I will try the above tomorrow :happy2:
-
Just thinking aloud but did you remove the polar cable as well?
-
Yeah the cable has been removed too
-
I have unticked telematics from the can gateway.
All DTCs cleared and none are coming back up when I do a scan now but still no audio menu.
Would it be worth me trying the RCD300 that originally came with the car to see if the audio menu appears with that?
Does anyone know what fuses are for the instrument cluster? I don't have a manual for my car, its registerd January 2006.

Well your RCD510 is seen so I don't think swapping radios would help. I suspect your problem may lie with the gateway seeing the Radio: No Signal/Communication - Intermittent fault
As for the instrument cluster fuse, I don't know but I'm pretty sure Eddie or kalu could help you out here.

Is that like how your gateway wouldn't see the RNS
As soon as I received the gateway back, I tested it on my indoor set-up and in my car and it was fine
The issue could be with the wiring or how the polar has done something to the instrument cluster
-
The gateway and stereo has been perfect from the day I installed Them, Everything worked as it should for months.
It was as soon as I installed a polar box that I started having issues.
I even tried the original gateway that came with the car and still don't get the audio menu so I don't think there is a problem with the gateway.
Despite what polar say I believe the polar fis has caused these issues I just don't understand how I am still having the problems with the polar box and wiring removed.
I have still not had any reply from auto polar about my problems after them coming on here last week and stating that they will still help me
-
I'm sure that the polar is to blame here, the fact that the newer polar doesn't even require coding or fault clearing after fitting.
As there are several variations to the fusebox. The fuse for the instrument cluster is a 5A and is in the fusebox inside the car
Check the coding in the RCD510 that BAP has not been ticked, It might be worth trying your old rcd300

How can I check for BAP in the coding?
I can't seem to see anything about BAP when I am in the radios coding
-
You need to look in the long coding helper and the check box for BAP is on one of the screens as you go throgh the coding

I pointed out that the pic was for a rns510 but the coding should be similiar for the rcd510 as I could see nothing related to navigation in that screen.

That is in the navigation module though, I don't have NAV.
I have only been going through the radio module to get the coding.

On your units coding
The last digit is a 4, see if you can manually code that to a 2
