Title: Urgent help with wipers
Post by: James5763 on December 28, 2012, 10:28:19 am
I removed my radio last night to get the code off it and I then had to go out, it started raining and no wipers came on, manual override didn't work, I can spray the screen and they don't active and the back all works fine, I've checked all relevant fuses and there fine, how someone can shed some light for me, thanks james

Never heard of this before. Your best bet would be to scan the car with VCDS if you have easy access to it?

Might sound daft, but is your bonnet shut properly?

Have you tried (not sure this will work), but put the wipers in 'Service mode'?

Also does the radio work?

the wipers some times don't work because the bonnet mech is faulty and stops the wipers working--open and shut the bonnet again and see if it works

Won't work in service mode, checked bonnet wires and catch, still nothing, opened and closed bonnet and still nothing and now it's raining :(

Had it on a code reader and it's saying auto wipers and lights and the code was something like g337, I've bypassed the bonnet catch and still no wipers....humm

Found out I have had aftermarket hids fitted and this is the cause of wiper motor getting blown as there on the same circuit and I've been told I need to fit a choke to the hids to prevent this happening again, can anyone help with this? I'm off to get a new wiper motor :)
