Hi guys after a couple of visits to members on the forum for a scan with their own VCDS i wanted to know how can own one and how much would it cost im thinking of buying one next year :innocent: , So can someone advise me on where i can get a hold of one and how much are they. Cheers :notworthy:

They are around £250 iirc, best bet is to visit the Ross tec website and find a supplier in the UK. There is one on here and there are group buys from time to time

i bought 5 together from a supplier in ireland earlier this year for bout 300 euro each...
well worth having your own kit and then backup support from rosstech

yeah its good to turn up to a garage or dealer and tell them the problem exaclty so instead of them bumping of the price or the fault its good to know what you are talking about and they step back and say whooow this guy knows what he is on about :D

Normally the garages say that you have been on that nasty forums when you turn up and know what's wrong and how to fix it. Stops them being able to say that extra parts or labour was required
I have had a garage say that I should not have VCDS because I am not a mechanic and won't know how to use it properly :fighting:

I will have a genuine micro CAN cable for sale next Thursday. Had to buy a different one to also work on my mates A4 B8.
