Off to pick one up shortly and I'm wandering if there is anything else I need to fit this.
I've got the set of grilles on order, the foglights, the two moulding trims and the lower splitter. Is there anything that goes behind the bumper that I need?
Also is fitting this a case of remove old one and replace with new one?
-
How much did you pay for the bumper?
And if yours was the facelift. So the GTI lookalike bumper then it is a straight fit, otherwise to bolt it on 'properly' and without having to cut your car up... You have to replace the front slam pannel and I think radiator... I voted for the cheaper cut the car up  :driver: :rolleye:
Its just plastic that didnt appear to do anything :P

Mine is a 57 plate, so what is needed to be cut? For the bare bumper i am paying £60 for a used genuine one.

Only other worry is the towing eye, Has anyone left the standard cross members in and have a picture of where the towing eye screw sits?
-
Had both an Xparts and genuine facelift on my old mk5, neither had a problem with towing eye access
-
Was that a conversion from the standard bumper to a gti one?
-
Pre facelift GT to Xparts. Looked ok but not quite 100%.
Xparts to genuine afterwards. Should have just skipped the replica and got genuine straight off.
Both bumpers had no issue with tow eye access on a late 55 2.0 TDI carrier.

Fantastic! Just what I wanted to hear :happy2: Justin my way to pick up everything now, going from st helens to Manchester then onto Bradford then back home! Nice easy run for me!
-
Bumper and grilles home. Got everything but sadily there was a set of non genuine grilles that fit like a glove on a foot! Only the lower centre grille fitted perfectly!
So if anyone has a non genuine bumper and is after the Jetta style grilles pass them this way!
-
How much did all the mouldings and grills come to in order to make it a complete bumper pal? I've been looking at the shells lately as that seems to be all that ever comes up! :happy2:

I found mine, genuine parts for 110. Was on ebay for 150 I think. I was on the phone to them within minuets of it being on ebay, as I was looking for a lot of parts at the time.

Im just in need of the larger centre top grille now, So far it stands me at £120. That includes all the lower grilles, foglights and mouldings.
Got given a set of non genuine ones but not 100% sure on the fitment of them.
-
^ not a bad price at all! where did you source the mouldings?
-
Mouldings were with the bumper along with the splitter.
-
got pics of this? :)
