My 24 month contract with Orange/EE has finished so I have an option to upgrade from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 at a cost or move over from a contract to pay as you go and save some money. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap pay as you go SIM card for an iPhone, if it has free texts that would be a bonus other than that I just want to minimise the cost.

Can't go wrong with giffgaff! They use the O2 network.
Look on their website at their deals, unbeatable IMO

By far the BEST decision I made was to join the 3 network. :notworthy:
I was happily on O2 for years paying £25 per month for 300mins, 300texts and 500mb Internet. :stupid:
When I moved house I had to stand at the front window to make and receive calls too.
Since changing to 3 I get full signal anywhere in the house and 3G (not that I need to use it as I use wifi in the house) is always 8Mbps. (That's faster than the Broadband I used to get with BT and SKY)
Now with 3 I get....
All-You-Can-Eat Internet,
600mins
5000texts
All for £15.90 a month, If you agree to 12mths- which kinda makes it a contract.
Or
£18.90 a month for a 1month rolling contract.

Mine is on Tesco at £10 pm , must do it for 12 months though .

I'm giff gaff
£10 a month for 300mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of data.
You get the same tariff with unlimited data for £12 a month.
Bought my iPhone sim free from apple. The initial outlay is more but over 2 years I save some cash and I'm not tied to a contract.
If you want a giff gaff sim I can give you a link to order from and you will get £5 free credit when you register the sim

+1 for Giffgaff
Is your iPhone 4 locked to Orange/EE, if so you need to get it unlocked to move to Giffgaff, as they are on the O2 network

check out tmobile sim only contracts. I wouldnt touch 3G!

Like others, I was paying O2 £30 a month for 500 mins and 600 texts and whatever the standard Internet usage was, but when my old handset died last year I decided to buy a 4S outright from Apple and switch to pay as you go.
I chose a 30 day rolling plan with T-Mobile for £15 a month. For that I get 330 mins, unlimited texts and I think either 500 or 750 MB Internet.
Even though the phone was expensive to buy upfront, it's definitely cheaper over 18 months to 2 years (which seems to be the standard length if most contracts) plus with the 30 day rolling plan can get out of it easily enough if I ever have any issues with signal strength etc
