Been busy today!
I've always liked the look of the R32 clocks and since fitting my RNS510, the blue clocks have been a little out of place. Since seeing some pictures of the MK6 GTI I decided the blue had to go.
Modified an R32 cluster to have red needles. Really pleased with the outcome, think the heater controls need changing though!

Looks good. A nice subtle change. I've always like the R32 clocks and would like some in mine. I know they can be fitted to a diesel but think it would bug me the that revs weren't right.

are the needles easy to fit??
have blue ones for my tdi...

If you have red needles at the moment then you need to remove the SMDs underneath (red LEDs) and re-solder blue ones on. Not that easy as the SMDs are tiny!

ahh no!!

looks great! :notworthy:

I bought the correct SMD's and attempted on a donor set of clocks. It went horribly wrong. Great work buddy!
-
very nice is there a lot of work involved in this ?
-
With an R32 cluster it's a case of changing the needles SMDs and needles. With GTI clocks you'd have to change all the blue SMDs to white. I suppose it just a case of changing more or less SMDs. :signLOL:

Nice work mate :happy2:
I personally prefer the standard R32 blue & white but still great work..
Any pics of your work??

Unfortunately I don't. I'm always annoyed with myself for not taking photos during a mod, as I appreciate how useful a good DIY can be. Need to remember for next time!
