Hi Folks, checking usual fluid levels in engine bay earlier and my son noticed that when I shook the coolant bubble, there was a dripping of clear liquid that started, and then small puddle that formed under the car! As I said, the liquid seems clear, and when I felt around the area it comes from, it was v dirty, oily and damp, any ideas plse??
I hope it isnt a radiator leak, as only had that replaced 4 mths ago!?
Many thanks for any guidance, and a v Happy New Year to you all!

Possibly brake fluid?
-
Is that a clear liquid? Could that really be disturbed by shaking the coolant bubble?
-
Was the car running and the a.c. on at the time?
-
Brake fluid is clear on oily, but now you mention that im unsure tbh
-
The car hasn't been driven for about 24 hrs, and these days only have air con on a couple of times per week! It's just odd that it only seems to happen when I shake the coolant!?
-
Coolant will be pink, brake fluid will be yellow like morning piss. Leave it on your hand for a bit and see if it starts stinging. :signLOL:
I would say it's from the a.c. as that will be clear and feel slightly oily.
-
Ahh what would the stinging in fingers come from plse? I did have a full air-con re-service in the Summer as well, in fact had new radiator, small fan, engine coolant sensor, thermostat, and the air con re-service all done within ten days in July, so don't know if all this work could have broken something!? My car is a 2005 Gti by the way!
-
Hmm, just applied sum of the liquid to my finger tips and yes, certainly mild tingling I think, is that an air con leak then? Is that a big problem do u know?
-
Does the fluid smell?
A.c. is just condensation.
-
Certainly no distinguishing smell anyway, no...!?
