Title: Best alloy footrest cover
Post by: john a on December 30, 2012, 10:33:11 pm
Folks I want a footrest cover for the Octavia, would prefer one that screwed/bolted on and did not have a laser cut logo like the Creation Motorsport ones. The OSIR ones look rather nice but I expect that they will be around 70 or 80 quid by the time they land in the UK.

Any suggestions please?
Thanks

I'm hoping the OSIR rest is just £49. That's what I paid the other day.

We will see when it gets delivered.  :happy2:

The quality of the OSIR one is shocking!

Must have cost all of 10p to produce! Carlo, be sure to check out the sellotape holding the plastic foot plate on!  :rolleye:

I hope you are joking Nath  :scared:  I thought the quality of these footrests was supposed to be great?  :ashamed:
I just prefer the look of the raised black inserts. I would be great if Gulf could offer the same sort of thing.
The OSIR ones certainly look very good in all the library pics.

***Just had a look at some photos on google images. Is this what you mean about the sellotape Nath??? Should be easy enough to sort.

No not joking at all buddy! I did a thread at the time as I was disgusted at the quality of such a relatively expensive item. I'd had one previously and don't remember the quality being so poor!  :fighting: :fighting:

The OSIR Dead Pedal is probably worth about £5 when not fitted but when in place it looks like an OEM part and complements the pedals nicely with its rubber inserts. The other ones I've seen for sale look cheap and tacky and probably still will when fitted.

Yeah they are still £49 via that useful uk-mkivs discount link. A bit spendy but I think they look very good when fitted and as previously mentioned, match the gti pedals very well.

The one I received didn't have tape holding the rubber (not plastic!) pads in location; it had black double sided sticky strips between protrusions. Not that it matters too much as when fitted the 'treads' aren't going anywhere!
