Title: Let Down by Ebay Seller!
Post by: ianv5 on January 01, 2013, 05:02:13 pm
Some of you might have seen my thread about purchasing some original Pescara wheels for my Golf gti.

Anyway they were originally on ebay a week ago and did not sell. So I contacted the seller and offered him the starting bid for the wheels including delivery.

We finally agreed on a price and then I noticed he did tyres as well so agreed a price with tyres fitted as well. Emailed him two days ago as  he asked me to confirm if we would go ahead. I had no response which I was surprised at!

So I went on ebay today and low and behold the wheels have been relisted :sad1:

Personally if we had come to an agreement I think it should be honoured! Or atleast had the decency to let me know they have been relisted! Or is it just the way things are these days!

Think instead I will treat myself to some new BBS wheels in the group buy from GNJ Motorsport so his loss  :P

have you contacted him via your ebay control panel rather than email

Via Ebay control panel and e-mail, why?

email can always go missing, the control panel will make sure the msg gets there.

if its all getting through, and he's actively ignoring you and relisting anyway, then i personally wouldn't want to deal with him

seems a bit odd though

Ebay often block messages that look like they are trying to arrange deals outside Ebay, they have certain keywords and stop emails, he might not hav got them

I am sure he has received my e-mails as he was very quick to respond originally.

Think I will spend some more on some New wheels :happy2:

We also communicated via his personnel e-mail so I know they got through.

really? i've often ended up doing deals outside of eBay (both as a buyer and seller) with no issues. tbh it's only really good for advertising. not sure i'd want to sell through eBay nowadays with the number of clowns and scammers you get.

....That's a real bummer re the eBay let down, Ian  :sad1:

All I can offer you in sympathy is that shot of Jessica's beautiful bum...........

Quite apart from having an adorable arse, from what I've seen of Jessica Ennis in various interviews (especially on The Graham Norton Show) she's truly a lovely lady in many respects.

Thanks Red Robin  Having been away from home for 4 months it is the little things that make me happy :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

PS. Any chance of that picture of the geek girl with glasses and the nice pair  Which unfortunately was removed along with the epic post about whether I have an Edition 30 or Not?

Thanks

Gosh! This thread has gone from woes about buying wheels on eBay to glorious pics of hot babes in less than one page!

So, nothing new here in 2013 then!

An update,

'Oh I have relisted the wheels and have 18 watchers this time, but if they don't sell you can have them for the agreed price'

Think I might just reply and tell him to RAM IT!!!!!!!!!!

cheeky git; i'd be very tempted to tell him where to go too
# of watchers doesn't mean anything, hold back, they may go for a song

roughly 10% of watcheers will be bidders, its a rough estimate based on selling on ebay for 8 years.

One being me, but not bidding, I can always get some other wheels as I am in no rush :happy2:

what a t*sser  :fighting:. had someone do something similar to me on Edition38 - we agreed a price on some wheels and he said that's fine and we agreed a time and place for me to collect them at the following weekend. on friday i texted him just to confirm that we were still meeting and he told me he'd changed his mind as was listing them on eBay. initially he was getting less than i offered him, so he ended the listing and relisted them! in the end he got more than we agreed on, so sometimes karma isn't a bitch it seems.

Would be a good buy for someone on here but I think I will be looking else where, I just don't trust the guy, I was literally going to put a deposit down for these only to find he had relisted them!

I live 10 mins from this place... when i was a lad and used to work in a tyre garage, these guys were our rivals. I heard a few years ago one of their fitters put a trolley jack through the floor of a Bentley...
