Title: Radiator fans draining battery

Hi guys,

Had my ed30 for about 3 months now and had zero problems until I came back home after being at the girlfriends folks over christmas. Went to start the car a couple days ago and the battery was flat. Thought it could have been the cold weather and lack of use that drained it. Jump started the car with a booster pack and went for a drive. Came back and turned the engine off. Discovered that both the radiator fans are running even thought the car engine is off. They keep running until the battery is flat. Anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it? Had to pull the fuse to stop the battery going flat.

sounds like you have a faulty coolant temperature sensor, or something else causing the fans to stay on. My fans have never stayed on after ignition off...

Do the fans come on as soon as you started the car?

I've had my fans run for a short time after the car was turned off on a hot day, but otherwise its a rare occurance. As above, it might be a faulty sensor or switch somewhere causing it
